Without question, and both guys fighting each others competition was a very good angle. Pac eliminating Cotto and Floyd eliminating Marquez, the only one left is Shane if he gets past Berto.

since tito and delahoya. Honestly it might be more close to chavez/sweet pea as far as talent and greatness. remember this is for p4p #1, when was the last time this happened?

Considering this are the best fighters of their era, P4P, this fight is bigger than Lewis/Tyson, Tyson/Holyfield, Chavez/Whitaker. About the same magnitude of Hagler/Leonard.

    Biggest in terms of what?

In terms of PPV, maybe it is.

But in terms of hype, I was there when these fights were being made:

    Chavez-Whitaker
    Tyson Holyfield 2
    Tyson - Lewis
    Tito-DLH

And boy ,the hype and the anticipation towards these fights were unbelievable.

i disagree, the stakes are higher in this fight. DLH/ Trinidad was a fight between two very good welterweights, undefeated and has potential to become the best of their generations.

Pac-mayweather is on another level. These are two proven great fighters with rankings in the ATG list already secured for both. they are no longer just potential bests of their generation, they already are and the fight will determine who will come out on top. Greater stakes/ and greater skills involved make the difference.

It would be the biggest fight this decade without a doubt.

    I'd say Lewis-Tyson was bigger.

People wouldn't shut the hell up about that one. I don't know for sure about PPV buys, I'm sure google could help me out.

Well, now that I looked at the numbers, yea, this is probably going to be the biggest fight in the past 10 years, maybe even longer.

Lewis-Tyson was 1.95 million buys, but Mayweather-De La Hoya was over 2. I'm almost expecting this one to be 3 million.

yea i don't remember much of the hype of whitaker-chavez since i wasn't into boxing that much back then but i remember the holyfield-tyson hype. Everyone was talking about it same with the tito-delahoya hype. It was big, i just hope this fight lives up to the expectation and not just hype like the tito-oscar showdown.
