Honestly there's so much anticipation and HYPE for this fight, unfortunately it's not gonna happen as soon as expected. An insider from the Philippines said . . . Pacquiao arrived there today and is expected to fly home to his province tommorow where he will be making a big announcement with regards to his political plans. He will be filling his certificate of candidacy, then go on campaigning. Election in the Phillipines is May 2010 and he cannot train for any fight prior to that date. . . . so more or less if Pac still wants to fight it's most likely going to be in the later part of 2010. Sorry to break it to you guys but . . . that's how it looks. Now let's wait from an official word from Pac himself.
His place is in the ring. I understand why he would want to be involved, but he will never do for his country in office what he can do in the ring.
yo psycho, i've read a couple of days ago that even if they get in terms with pbf's camp regarding this megafight. pbf will still be likely the next opponent. freddy was talking about having one more fight (probably a tune-up) before mayweather to provide pac some time for a serious preparation. have you read about this too?
I understand he would be running for a congressional seat . . . so voting will only be in his local sector or province not from the whole country.
Yes PBF is the only logical opponent for Pac . . . but if what you are saying is true (that Pac will make a tune up fight) . . . then it will delay their fight further.
it will probably push through around the last quarter of 2010. "may elections" - "training" - "tune-up" - "training" - "floyd fight" ... or it may be just another way of roach playing their "purse split" game with floyd's camp.
Somehow a certain someone will get blamed for this fight not happening any time soon. And we all know it wont be PAC. HHAHAHAHAHA
He should forget about the elections for now and focus on boxing,he will have a lot of time for politics once he retires.
that won't happen though... his only advantage in this election is his fame specially him being the "biggest name" after the cotto-TKO. he will lose some of that leverage after he retires. i really wish that people surrounding pac would stop ****ing with his head and giving him false hopes about venturing into politics.
They'll fight, but I think the fight itself will not live up to the hype. Mayweather will move, box and frustrate Pac and win a clear UD.
