i predicted 700-800...what about ya'll 850K buy Mayweather-Hatton! Monday, December 17 2007 The numbers are in. The December 8th HBO-PPV clash between Floyd Mayweather and Ricky Hatton generated 850,000 pay-per-view buys. The breakdown was 520,000 from cable and 330,000 from satellite. It was a tremendous year for Floyd, who's bout
850k US and an extra 900k in Britain if reports are to be believed. I'm suprised it only did 850k stateside
Didn't Hatton have exclusive rights in getting the money from the UK PPV's? If that is true then its a high probabilty that Hatton made more money than PBF.
PPV kings can do these numbers while fighting lower opposition....like oscar and tyson... floyd has had alot, i mean alot of help.....he fought ricky and oscar who i'm sure have a wayyyyyyy bigger fan base...... just imagine tyson having a 24/7 series before one of his fights..... either way, props to them and atleast this fight was somewhat exciting.....
cause half of england was in vegas.... do you honestly think if floyd were to ever fight over there he would get the same outcome.....floyd will be lucky if 9 people from here go.... floyd does 7k people here in the states....and most of them walk out
floyd also gets a percentage of the UK ppv. total buys worldwide so far 1.75 million buys.:happy two ppvs with total ppv buys over 1 million the first fighter in history to do that.
Are you being serious?atsch You think that it is an indictment of Hattons support that he only sold 50k more in England than PBF did in the USA, when the USA has a population of over 300 million people and England has a population of 50 million. You are either stupid or....I don't even know what the alternative could be.
