To me this is the fight that would count for Floyd. No excuses could be made. Williams is taller, younger, great stamina, great work rate.

Mosley ..... you can make the argument that he is out of his prime and old...

Pac.... You can make the argument that he is too small.

But Paul Williams their is no excuse you can make if Floyd wins. If Floyd really wants to prove how great he is then fight Williams.

And nobody give that crap about "oh yea but PW got out boxed by Quintana".....Yea he did.....and then came back and starched him in less then a minute.

    MAKE THIS FIGHT!

I think Floyd wins this. The only issue i have is how he would deal with that huge reach advantage. P. will would probably fight at range and try to to unload a huge amount of punches. It would for me depend on how well Floyd went in and out but i'd be leaning towards him being able to.

So now Floyd has to fight a guy who's favored to beat Pavlik for the MW title in order to get credit. That's some high standards.

    Pie in the ****ing sky.

There are other fighters that can stand up to Cherry in fights that are much more feasible. Mayweather isn't going to move up and Pdub can't move down; and cherry would duck him even if he did.

Even though I dont like people using the Quintana fight as an example.... The truth is that Quintana did happen to pull off a win. Quintana is smaller and less skilled then Floyd. I wouldnt consider PW and Floyd a mismatch at all.

Mayweather would make him miss, he'd take advantage of Williams lacking in accuracy in my opinion. Williams should do what he does best, swarm, but as we know, it doesn't bode well against Floyd.

It amazes me how people think Williams' style is similar to a Vernon Forrest, or even a Tommy Hearns, simply because of the similarities in their respective body structures.

Seeing as how some people are blowing up his win for fighting a career featherweight, it's only fair.

Nah, after that he'll have to fight Dawson or Hopkins.

Let's be realistic, this fight is not happening.

Most people aren't giving Floyd much credit for beating Marquez. Not only that, but he got a lot of **** for fighting him in the first place. I'd give Mayweather a lot of credit for fighting him, but I see no reason why he shouldn't get credit for fighting Mosley or the Pac/Cotto winner.

I think Mayweather would beat Williams but lets be realistic here its not going to happen. Williams wont be able to make 147 again and Floyd would have to be completely insane to move up to 160 to take on the winner. And all this **** going around that Marquez moved up two divisions to fight Floyd, yes he did but the difference is too big to move to middleweight for a man of Floyds size.

What would you say to a fight at 154?

There are exceptions, but 147-54 seems to be the dividing line between big men and small men. Floyd does not need to fight Williams, who is clearly no longer a welterweight. A fight with Cotto or Mosely might change my opinion on the guy, win or lose.

I doubt Floyd would take it but **** it I would like to see it. Also if Williams beats Pavlik he will probobly stay at 160.
