Floyd was just far too advanced for Manny, always was and always will be.

Wasn't a close fight at all. Knew it was going to be won by Floyd.

2009 Floyd would have made it even easier imo.

Two different levels of fighter between the two.

One is a h2h beast and one of the greatest boxers of all time, the other... on tier 2. Not bad, very good fighter but just not up there with the likes of Sweet Pea, SRR, SRL, Duran, May, Hagler, Hearns, etc.

Manny never could deal with someone with high end skills, Floyd and Marquez were 2 opponents he could never get by. It's not his fault, those 2 are very good fighters.

Floyd gave him a comprehensive boxing lesson.

    It is what it is.

You could just see, those two were just too different, one was far more skilled than the other.

    Obvious.

Manny ain't a bad fighter, just not someone who would ever be able to contend with the real ATG's of boxing history.

    But he's an ATG!!!

Five years ago it is a different fight as Manny would fight in a different style.

Floyd was easily the better man at the start of the month, but due to Pacquiao fighting differently in the intervening period it is impossible to say what would have happened five years ago.

5 years ago, Floyd's relfexes were close to top notch, foot speed, hand speed, body fitness were all amazing

    Would have been easier.

:rofl:rofl:rofl Nearly knocked out yet Floyd wasn't even knocked down. FACT! You better educate yourself on what KO is by watching KTFO6, Torrecampo or Singsurat! Floyd wasn't anywhere close to sleeping like that.

I agree with your summation of Floyd, but he is still quite close to that Floyd today. His reactions are a tad slower, but, his speed and fitness are still top notch.

The difference would have been in Pacquiao. Pac is more of a boxer now. He hasn't had the ability to fight for three minutes of every round for quite some time now. Because of this he now chooses to box more and even lets his opponents lead of first so as he can counter.

The Pac of old would not have had success by trying to out box Floyd like he did this month. That would never work. He would have tried to steam roller him with fast leaping in combinations.

I would still pick Floyd to have won five years ago. I have always favoured Floyd in that respects. However, it still doesn't change the fact that the fight would have been different, stylistically, and closer on the cards.

    Disagree.

He boxes more nowadays but I think 5 years ago, he would have easily walked into one of the right hands and fell face first right into the canvas. :yep

First off, Floyd is not close to where he was in his prime, 5-6 years ago. He's slowed down noticably and gets hit more. Pac nailed him alot more than was given credit for from compubox. The fight was extremely close hence why FLoyd sr was disappointing with Floyd almost every round. He knew the fight was coming down to the wire. The fight was a draw, floyd didn't do enough to win the fight, simple as that, but Manny did land the harder shots and hurt Floyd, but not once was manny damaged. or hurt.

:|:|:| Farhood, Moretti, Lederman (HBO), Kellerman (HBO), Lampley (HBO) were all biased.
