Quintana wouldn't be allowed to share the same ring as floyd so thats dead.
Judah was consider not even to be at floyd level when floyd spanked him.
SSM turned floyd down and decided to have his tooth pulled instead ..

    kick rocks with this ****.

He was a damn good Spr FW, good LW....and an average at best LtWW, WW, JrMW. He had not done anything a bunch of others haven't already done at those weights. Less even. In fact, his title reigns from JrWW to JrMW are actually pretty weak and forgettable.

His fame will come from being one of the best 130er to fight.

Average at best at LtWW? Sure, his resume doesn't compete with other greats from this weight range. But neither does, say, a Pernell Whitaker. But based on their performances against who they DID fight at LtWW, I wouldn't call either of them average at best.

And Floyd DID offer both Hatton and Cotto a fight here. Both of which were turned down.

He moved up to WW and away from LtWW largely due to a) the best fighters not wanting to face him, and b) chasing the money fights at WW (Judah was one of, if not, the biggest fight in boxing BEFORE the Baldomir fight - and still quite big after)... and of course he had his biggest money earner of his whole career in Dela Hoya down the road too.

Perhaps for someone who's only been watching boxing for 3 years. Even so, that's a stupid remark. But I'll give you a pass. :thumbsup

Yes. Because to properly assess a fighter at that weight, you HAVE TO GO WITH RESULTS. Mayweather may very well have been the best 140 ever, but he didn't do squat there. SO his reign there is nothing to be impressed.

You're hilarious. What about Jack Johnson? The guy refused to fight many black fighters. Sugar Ray Leonard cherry picked his ass off. So did Oscar De La Hoya, and shitload of other fighters. Boxing is a relatively unorganized sport that doesn't have a set schedule. The whole sport is built off of cherry picking. Hell, the only instance when a fighter isn't truley cherry picking is when he fights his mando. Other than that, fighters will generally cherry pick the best risk/reward fight available.

Fair enough. But the same should apply to all fighters. For example, Pernell was only average at best at Lt.WW.

But based on their performances there, I'd still tip both over some more accomplished (even great) Lt.WW's.

Tszyu, for example... I'd tip BOTH Pernell and Floyd over him AT light welterweight.

I see what you're saying. Personally, I think Floyd was at his absolute best at 140. However, he only had 3 fights there. You can't call him an ATG 140 lb'er, but he wasn't an average fighter at that weight either. He didn't even have average accomplishments at that weight. Your average fighter doesn't relieve one of the division's top fighters of a major belt.

What is this **** Lance?, in every Mayweather hating thread that includes a group of ******s like Aztek_Cabdriver and co. I see you backing them up in one way or another instread of questioning the ******ed posts the likes of that fruitcake do.

You know well enough that Mayweather tried to fight the best at 140 but couldn't make that fight so he moved up. There's nothing complicated there at all to criticise his resume at 140.

Scar....I rarely back any other fans, even if they are Margarito fans. If you're gonna attempt to say I am backing them, find it and show me so I can look like the fool. I ask Eze to prove what he claims I say...but he's too much a *****.

I don't care if he TRIED to fight the best @ 140. You don't rank that person based on an ATTEMPT to fight. Only actual fights. Besides, no one forced Maywather to move up to weight so quickly. Then again, if Baldomir and Judah were them champs, I might try to win an easy belt from them nyself.

PS.....since Margarito TRIED to fight Mayweather....that means he's the best right? Using what you said right? See how dumb that sounds.:smoke

I, nor anyone I can think of, never claimed Whitaker was the best 140 fighters ever, or a top 5 ATG 140er. WHen Mayweather was still @ 130 & 135, i was saying he'd beat Tszyu @ 140. Except somehow that means I don't give Mayweather credit. But still, you can't rank somenoe according to just who you THINK might have won. The fights need to happen for them to matter.
