I never claimed you did (it was just the first example of a great fighter who moved up in weight classes and only spent a few fights at a particular weight - 140 being the class). And I wasn't having a go at you, nor was trying to imply you don't give Mayweather any credit. Just stating that your view is fair (that a fighter cannot be rated on what they could of done), as long as there's consistency. I see you had Mayweather beating Tszyu at 140, so in actual fact, we probably agree with each other here (except I wouldn't agree that Floyd was average at 140). I wouldn't rate Floyd in the top 5 or even top 10 at Lt.WW... Although I'd probably tip him over a number. That's all I was trying to say.
Its really unfiar to say what kind of welter he was when he barely spent much time at the weight class .
BAH!! Judah!! The guy better known for lossing every important fight of his life. Baldomir, A bum that beat Judah and class C fighter Gatti. Hatton, Who has never been a WW and got schooled by Collazo. Delahoya past his prime. And I still think they pay DLH to stop throwing that jab. That jab was killing Floyd
Lets see... Never had courage...he was never tough, he hand picked all his opponents...was given a gift decision against Castillo...barely won the rematch. Fought with no heart against Baldimir, barely beat Judah. Ducked Cotto, Marg, Williams, Clottey. He was buzzed by Chop chop...ducked Zoo and his whole legacy is based on a win over Gatti. Floyd is a boring fighter who is scared to get hit. He was given a gift decision against DLH and only beat Hatton because they fought at 147... Had they fought at 140 then Hatton would have knocked Floyd out...Floyd throws pitty pat pot shots as if he is dusting furniture...and only throws 12-15 punches per round... Did I miss anything... Okay...ok...he has good footwork and stamina... How did this guy become P4P? Lets get it all out in this thread...
Your done .. Lucky punch yeah right .. quintana landed his best punches on william and nothing william lands his punches on Quintana and you get the following results :dead Quintana should be fighting at 140 .. if he fights williams again he gets koed if he fight Clotty he gets KOed , if he fights Margarito he gets KOed I doubt he can beat Zab he still get KOed.
That's one horrible attempt to twist the topic. Where did I exactly say that him TRYING to get the big fights at 140 means he won them? atsch, all I was reminding you is that he tried to get those fights, failed to do so he moved up. I never said that he's better than those guys at 140. About Margarito being involved in this discussion you pretty much know VERY well that when Mayweather moved up to Welterweight the hype surrounding Margarito was based on what HE SAID, not much to brag about in terms of actual accomplishments there. Moving up in weight was a big move and many people thought that a fight with Judah is nearly impossible because Mayweather will be too much of a chicken, you remember that, don't you?, because if you don't I remember you participating in these threads quite a lot. When posts that are directed to Mayweather seem to attract you but another ****** posting absolute rubbish about how Mayweather's legacy is affected because of Margarito then your mentality is pretty much exposed and not just recently, but long ago.
maybe not but you cant deny on his best day he would be competitive for just about any fighter ever.. theres no way you will beat a prime motivated Floyd, even an above his weight Floyd decisively ...
There's no way PBF is even a Top 20 Welter of all-time until he fights Margarito. Even if were to beat Tony his resume at this weight alone is spotty.
