There's actual hate pages on FB for Lebron and Jordan and they're considered top 3.. There's not an athlete on the planet who is liked by everyone in the world.. If I told you I don't think Ali, SRR, Tyson, or any other solidified ATG are ATGs and gave you valid reasons, then technically they're not 'universally' considered ATGs by everyone...

Not universally considered an ATG? He isn't?
Point to one boxing peer or boxing journalist that doesn't consider Floyd an ATG..........Just one. I'm serious I want one name.

But I digress: To answer the original question, I can personally name a ton of athletes I'd consider over Floyd as athlete of the decade. He competed sporadically throughout the decade and while he was phenomenal in his fights, outside the ring his accomplishments were severely lacking. He used the excuse his income was all through his boxing and he had no push or sponsors as a reasoning behind him having should've been selected, ironically that's one of the reasons he shouldn't be. No one wanted to sponsor or promote him because outside of boxing, there wasn't very much substance or value behind his name. And I say all of this as a fan of Mayweather (inside the ring).

He's definitely an ATG in the ring, outside of the ring, there's not much there.

Anybody who doesn't consider Floyd an ATG inside of the ring is just a troll or a hater plain and simple. The guy has done things in the ring and has accomplishments that many will never achieve.

He's only "undefeated" because of the corruption in Vegas & the NSAC!!
Without them he'd hava 4 or 5 losses

The job of an excellent boxer is to cut the ring off and force the action. Boxing has an abundance of excellent fighters that have been successful against "runners". You can't blame Floyd if no one has successfully done that to him :eaea::cool:

He doesn't hold a candle to someone like Roger Federer who has played and beat the very best in history over and over for nearly two decades. Imagine if Federer retired only having played Djokovic or Nadal once and having cherry picked the exact right moment to play them when they were well past their best/carrying injury and needed ped's to do it. Roger is a better athlete then any of those basketball players by the way, its just american bias...

A world class Tennis players schedule is ridiculous.

Floyd isn’t even the best athlete in Boxing.

AJ is leagues ahead of him.

You're higher than giraffe *****. Lebron James or Russell Westbrook are 1000 light years more of an athlete than Federer is. Put him in an athletic contest running jumping and throwing and he would look like a 50 year old man next to them. Basketball players are among the very best athletes on Earth and it's not American bias you're just ignorant and don't have a clue.
