Floyd knocked him down with a quick left hook stepping in while JMM was ducking. WTF fight did you watch? Floyd threw an uppercut with some seriously mean intentions and it missed. Floyd has enough power at 147 to get respect from the people he's hitting. No one is going to walk through Floyd's punches, though he's certainly not a KO artist.

The reason he won so convincingly is partly due to the the way he fought, relaxing, picking his punches, taking breathers. Of course he could throw combination with intensions to take Marquez out but that would be a risk, he could get cought by some good punch, he could punch himself out and struggle at the end.

:nut:nut Crazy.... Left hook then push Marquez while he is moving away. DOWN GOES Marquez! :nut:nut

Floyd Mayweather did not play with Marquez he tried to KO him. The reason that he was laughing was to taunt Marquez to move forward. He also knows that Marquez does not have enough power to hurt him. It was a good display of what Mayweather can do. That's all I can say about the fight.

I said before this fight that PBF wouldn't go out of his way to embarrass JMM because he respects and likes him. He proved that last night. He rarely threw his best punch last night the straight right hand.:deal

thats why the size was not big deal. mayweather did not even walk him down until rd 10.he showed more speed and skill in that fight then power.prolly cuz he knew they was gone say he was fighting to small of a man.mayweather had the power for jmm but he beat him on skill and speed.

Floyd needed to throw combinations to have had a realistic shot to stop a fighter in JMM who imo is the best conditioned fighter in boxing......
......even Mayweather alluded to it in his response on why he did'nt get Marquez out of there....."he was in great shape, there's a reason he's never been stopped."

    ......Why did'nt Mayweather throw combinations?
Maybe the Floyd fanboys can answer it, because it sure is'nt because he was pulling his punches because of his respect of Marquez........Mayweather has'nt thrown combinations since he stepped out of the lightweight division.

I was looking at the fight tape and saw that Mayweather after he throws a second punch, immediately has his hands up to defend, and rarely throws a third punch...

It was mentioned by the broadcast team last night that Mayweather had his left hand held low and that Marquez was failing to take advantage by throwing his right hand to Mayweather's left side.
.....yes it was held low, but only when Marquez was out of punching range or when Mayweather had full intention to retreat and pull away in a defensive stretch going back that he's very good at.

My point being is that to be that good defensively, you sacrifice alot of the offensive part of your game......which in part why Mayweather was not going to KO Marquez.

To had a real possibility to KO Marquez would have meant that Mayweather would have had to eaten leather himself.....and thats something thats not in his genetic makeup as a fighter.

One's and two's, so fast and so quick from the outside stepping in......but thats as far as the risk Mayweather has been willing to take for his entire career......and has absolutely zero to do with taking it easy on Marquez.

Mayweather took as much risk as he will ever take against Marquez, and he just could'nt take him out.
Credit Marquez toughness some, because he's been knocked down a few times, but not once against either Pacquiao or Mayweather did Marquez' legs turn to jelly.

Is this a joke?? What was the benefit?? That an older smaller fighter stayed with the "GREAT" PBF 12 rounds?? PBF was trying to KO Marquez but he was not willing to open up for the KO! Plain and Simple! He did not want to get caught with return fire.

Tell me what would have made more sense for PBF, meaning as a bargaining Chip against Pacman when it comes to a split, a KO over JMM or the UD OVER 12 ROUNDS ?? ANYONE with ANY sense would say the former! A KO even over a smaller fighter would have increased the interest in PBF! But alas he ended up with the 3rd worst possible scenario a UD over JMM. (BTW WORST Possible Scenario a loss , 2nd a Split decision)
