Floyd wide open after every straight right lead, Khan's speed will expose that.

I respect your opinion and agree that Kahn does propose certain attributes that could trouble Floyd.

But winning "sometime in 2012" I don't buy. That's only 1.5-2 years following the Maidana fight, and I don't think 1.5-2 years will be enough time for the required improvement for him to beat Floyd.

I personally believe a 2013 win is more likely (but imo still unlikely), but 2014 and the fight becomes a lot more interesting. For a variety of different reasons.

Depending on Khan's improvements of course. But I still don't see him beating Floyd ever (except 2014 and on, as stated above, which make the Khan win a lot more realistic. Still not certain though).

    Stranger things have happened.

Dont you think all 42 have tried having gameplans as such?

They have and they all failed.

Its not as easy to throw a fast 1-2 against a technician like Floyd. Besides Khan wont see floyd's right hands coming, mainly because he throws them when his opponent is least vulnerable, and its so fast and accurate, that you just dont see them coming.
And when floyd adjusts its game over because we seen that Roach fighters never have a Plan B, as seen with Pacquiao vs /JMM and Mosley.

He'll be up there imo, barring some freak knockout, shock uncontroversial loss to a fighter he shouldn't have, or a sudden decline in Khan's skill.

Future of boxing though, perhaps, but very debatable. Future as the in the future pound for pound king, I mean.

Give him Bradley, Morales (to unify 140), and a few fights at 147 against legitimate contenders, a close fight with Floyd (win or lose), and the kid will make a big claim to that statement. Easier said than done though!

I think the Bradley and Morales fight's are unlikely, and I would jump at a Maidana replacement in either fight, but hey, can't judge a guy for hoping.

Khan has reach, speed and power.
    Thats all.
No ring IQ. No particular skills.
Since when is Khan a counter puncher ?

I think Khan should wait until 2018 to fight Floyd. It's his best chance.

His physical attributes may give him more of a chance on a "declining" Mayweather in 2014 (no earlier imo). Doesn't mean he'd win, but I think he'd make more of a fight out of it.

That's 2 and half years down the road though, and its likely the fight will be made before then.

Mosley (undoubtedly), Hatton and Hernandez must be added to the list.

Some of Floyd's defences at 130, certainly weren't cherry picks.

The Gatti fight at 140 wasn't a cherry pick either. Yes, it was always going to be a domination. But many people felt that Floyd could lose that fight, with Gatti supposedly a "new man" on the run of his career. That's the fight that actually propelled Floyd to p4p no 1 status, in fact. And no, the Kostya fight was not available to Floyd, if people knew the circumstances surrounding the fight. Kostya certainly didn't push for it, and not forgetting the Showtime-HBO difficulties of making it happen.

Judah may be somewhat of a cherry pick, but right before the Baldomir fight, that was the fight the whole boxing world was asking for.

JMM's recent performance against Pac show that it wasn't that much of a cherry pick, considering Floyd was coming off an extremely long lay. But that's more of a fight that you just have to be impressed with Mayweather's boxing skills, regardless of whether it was a cherry pick or not.
