anyone who says that jmm got 11 rounds in the first fight does not even seen the fight or were just listening to what divac was saying. :-(
Pac will never try to pressure Floyd it's not his style. You are confusing his affective aggression with pressure when he clearly is a boxer puncher. And has been for most of his fights. His style has adapted more to give him a better defense more feints and head movement with the same deadly speed. Pac and Freddy work very good together they will try to overwhelm but not with Power or Pressure. They will use their hand and footspeed to try and get in and out and make Floyd really work to catch Pac. Pac's foot speed and combination punching at this point are superior at this stage. Floyd has one of the best defenses and is the best precision puncher in the game. Anyone who truly believes Marquez won all the rounds besides the first can't be taken seriously. After the first round the fight was fairly even which is why most feel Pac should have got the W.
I don't think he will make him look silly even if he beats him, I just don't see anyone out there making Pacquiao look silly with his abilities. The man has insane speed, power, stamina, movement, underrated defense, good chin and a southpaw. The guy is the full package. This fight is 50/50 to me right now till I see how Mayweather performs against Marquez then I will make a prediction. Got to see how he performs after the layoff since I can't really judge based on the Hatton or DLH fights.
Come on man he didn't "school" him, all rounds were competitive, JMM never had not even a SINGLE easy round in the 24 rounds he went with Pac even when he won rounds they were closel. Don't judge based on the first JMM fight, Pac had TWO punches only back then and look how he developed now.
unfortunately i can't see anything other than a floyd win...won't stop me rooting for manny though. i'm starting to think this fight may not happen given all the in fighting between promoters / cuts etc. really can't see floyd agreeing to a 50/50 split he only ever conceded that to de-la-hoya who is in a different league when it comes to the $$$$$$$$$4
to the topic. i agree that floyd has the stylistic advantage over pac on this one and its up to pac's camp to find a way to neutralize this. jmm also has the styles advantage over pac but they managed to adjust and beat jmm narrowly.
Normally i just read all the post and dont really post myself but this is the exact way that i feel wait come july i will then make my judgement on the fight.... i have a feeling that Mayweather is gonna try to be busy in there and look amazing.... i hope that he does for a change.
At first I was picking PBF with ease but I can see how Pac can make it a hard fight for PBF with his activity. I think it depends on how much respect Pac shows PBF and if PBF can dictate the fight and make pac fight at his pace and box with him. If he gets pac boxing and hesitant to throw too much for fear of counters that will work to PBF's favor. If Pac sets the pace with high volume and combination and can take PBF's counter well then he can make it a hard night for PBF. JMM has a way of getting Pac to settle down and box with him, thats what PBF needs to do. PBF needs to rattle Pac good with some nice counters early and get him to respect his power and allow him to set the pace. I also think PBF has a much better inside game than pac and if he can make pac miss alot and frustrate him with his elbows that would work to his advantage too.
Floyd's 1.5-year layoff could possibly be his Achilles sword. We'll know it come 17 July. The terms of Marquez-Mayweather has not really been divulged (147 or 144 or 143 lbs?) At 147-lb, Mayweather is simply physically too big for Marquez! This is not fair (same thing for a Mayweather-Pacquiao) and I don't see a Marquez chance at all. If 143-lb weighed at fight-time (instead of 1 day b4 the fight), then it's a fair. I want a levelled playing field so that risks are equal to both fighters. Then it's worth watching!!
I hope he does too, I think the styles play out well and Pac will force PBF into a good exciting fight. I like to say that Hatton caused his own knockout against PBF, cause he brought the fight to PBF and forced him to fight that more physical fight on the inside. PBF will be perfectly happy to stay on the outside all night jabbing to a UD and would have done that if Hatton let him, but Hatton always comes forward and that forced PBF to give us a more exciting fight. With DLH, PBF was overly catious and didnt use most of his skills and also was a close anticlimatic fight.
Yep, I've been saying this as long as the fight has been discussed. There is a lot of Pacquiao mania right now, but Floyd will be a cold dose of reality. He'll slow things down to his own speed, fight at his own pace, and pick Pacquiao apart.
I'd rather not see Floyd fighting in his "own pace" because that means dancing around the ring instead of engaging Pacquiao. To make my point clearer, imagine if Pacquiao does a dancing too like Floyd, ooohh what a bore fight!!
