Early in the fight mayweather will taste the canvas. Pacquiao is a great fighter and it doesn't matter who you are, his speed and angles are going to cause issues.

That being said, mayweather should still win the fight by a ud. I think it'll be similar to the Mosley fight where we see mayweather in trouble at one point, but he will fight his way out of it and take control.

I'm not entirely convinced that Pac can hurt floyd whatsoever.

Although I don't agree with that, you don't have to hurt someone to knock them down. Mayweather can get caught by a punch he doesn't see coming and suffer a flash kd. That's what I see happening, some oddly angled shot catching Floyd and him hitting the canvas.

Fighters go down, it's not a big deal as long as you're not badly hurt and can keep your head on straight.

....especially if pac uses 8 oz. than floyd's favorite 10 oz. gloves.

I do not think so. When exactly has Floyd been down?

Interesting fight. However, I only see Pac being too fast for Floyd.

Timone didn't hit the canvas. Doubt Floyd will.

I see FMJ going down for a flash knockdown somewhere in rounds 1-3. Then I see Pac going down from a careless counter somewhere in rounds 4-6. I don't think either of them will be hurt. I then see Pac taking control after that and winning on points. I'm a Pac fan. If I were a FMJ fan I could see him taking control after that and winning on points as well.

Mayweather might hit the canvas on several occasions, but Pacqioua will have to KHTFO for the KDs to be officially scored....just IMO.

But I wholly expect a stoppage in this first fight.:good

I think Timmy jaw is much better than Floyd's. That guy has taken some serious punishment in some of his fights. FMJ tends to be able to avoid shots better. I still think he'll be caught by something.

i don't see this, Floyd will be keeping his distance and moving around, he knows he cannot allow Pacquiao to unleash combinations on him too often. He allowed it vs Maidana but Maidana isn't as skilled or quick.

Aren't your expectations a bit high?

You tell me how often Floyd has been in an exciting action packed fight :?

    I agree. It is possible.

It is boxing after all... sooner or later a fighter will come across that punch they didn't expect.. Even a great defensive genius like Floyd.

Manny Pacquiao despite his technical flaws I feel strongly will be Floyd's most dangerous opponent in the ring for some time.

Pacquiao has the awkwardness, speed in volumes, southpaw stance and power to effect any opponent's strategy in the ring.

Now the question is can Pacquaio be awarded the FIGHT?? Even if he knocks down Mayweather Jr or rocks him.

If Floyd comes back strong and adjust later in the rounds... how will Manny re-adjust to Floyd???

One thing I worry for Pacquiao is the right hand counter I have seen many opponents landed on him.

Tim Bradley, Marquez and even Algieri have been able to counter Manny w/rights while he flicked that lazy jab or went all out with his unguarded flurries.

Marquez had that power in their 4th fight with his counter right...
while Algieri not so much. But the fact is they landed flush on Manny.

For such a big fight though... one can only hope that Freddie Roach and Team Pacquaio address this... cause Floyd is known for that counter right hand..

I'm a die hard optimist! :yep Pac constantly gets clipped with right hands. Although I don't think FMJ has what it takes to KO him, I feel his timing is good enough that he will catch Pac at an awkward moment and knock him on his butt. Then Pac will get up, almost embarrassed, smile and bang his gloves together. We'll know he's okay, but he will have given away a much needed point or two for when it comes down to the cards.
