No he would not beat GGG easily, but GGG is not considered a challenge to Floyd because most people recognize that it might be a step too far for Floyd, as great as he is.

I know if I was Floyd, and I knew I could beat GGG easily, I would most certainly go for him. But it's not a fight Floyd needs, and it would be anything but easy.

Those who measure Golovkin solely as a puncher DKSAB.
I even think this Floyd's win today solidified Golovkin mentally as well. He knows he is on the right path, his confidence is over the roof, and seeing how a true dedicated AND mega talented professional in the face of Floyd performed today will add to his self-perception as well. It's about aura, and Gena has it. Golovkin is growing as a professional with every fight having already beaten dozens of decent defensive boxers (like Dirrell or many cubans) in the ams.
This is a dream fight for fans, a very competitive one, where neither Floyd nor Golovkin shall be discounted or disrespected. Hardcore boxing fan Billy Graham (read his breakdown) believes Golovkin has the tools to handle Mayweather, and I agree with him that his arsenal is not as limited as that of which Canelo demonstrated today.
Something extraordinary must happen though to make this fight doable. Dream fight.

What Floyd did last night was legendary indeed, but IMO I think Golovkin is still a real danger for him. Remember, Canelo may have faced over 40 opponents, but they were mostly bums from Mexico, trout was the only world class fighter he fought. So Ginger boy really had no experience at the world level. Floyd on the other hand has beaten over 20 world champions in 45 fights, he's vastly more experienced at the world level throughout 17 years, from Corrales to Castillo, from Judah to Gatti, Oscar, Hatton, Marquez, Cotto, etc. What ended up happening was that the 23 year old bully looked like a deer in the head lights against floyds experience and speed. Canelo was at a loss of words.

Golovkin is no Canelo however. Golovkin has had something like 365 amateur fights in different parts of the world, and won 360 of them. Hes won silver at the Olympics, he's faced the best amateur prodigies around the world, from Russia to Cuba to the UK and the US. Golovkin has just as much experience as Floyd at the top level. And for those who say that amateur experience doesn't matter, just take a look at Guillermo Rigondeaux. Golovkin's amateur record is no worse than Rigo's. He won't look like a deer in the headlights against Floyd. Golovkin ain't no 23 year old bully, he's a mature man in his thirties who has vast experience at the world level.

Canelo also hits nothing like Golovkin. Canelo has a snap to his punches but Golovkin's power is clubbing, and paralyzes you. Look at how Macklin reacted the first jab Golovkin touched him with, he knew his life was in danger and Macklin was a tough SOB. Floyd stood in the pocket against Canelo but he absolutely cannot do that Against Golovkin. IMO Floyd would have to put it all on the line and fight the perfect fight to beat Glovkin.

If he wants to be remembered with SRR, 160 might be an idea.

Think of it like this. If Spock had beamed Shane Mosley out of there when he staggered Floyd and beamed GGG in there instead, that zero would have probably been gone.

A sharp shot from GGG (or even Canelo) could put a whole different complexion on the fight.

However, I think current Floyd could very well outpoint current GGG, and without any cw.

The thread title could apply to anybody you could realistically match floyd against right now, not only GGG, but anyone.

But that is what makes FMJ so amazing..he only makes a mistake once...he will never make that same mistake he made against Mosley again...he only grows stronger from his mistakes.

GGG should stay away at 154, if floyd wants to fight GGG, needs to be at 160, no way golovkin wins at 154

Floyd tried to make Canelo come in at 147. He probably do the same for GGG

At 160 GGG puts Floyd on a stretcher

Floyd said Nelo was punching his arms...and he said it hurt

Imagine what GGG would do at 160.......god forbid he lands a clean shot

What a bunch of deluded fuc.kwits. No wonder this forum is considered a joke.

We have ******s in this thread saying GGG is a better BOXER,not puncher but a better BOXER than Floyd Mayweather. People who think Golovkin beats Floyd should euthanase themselves. GGG's best win is Matthew fu.cking Macklin!! Get a grip on your ****ing selves.

You all tried this overhyping **** with Bute and guess what? It backfired in your uneducated moronic faces.
You also tried this overhyping **** with Matthysse and guess what? It backfired in your uneducated moronic faces.

Fact is that the amount of stupidity being spewed by some of the spastics like Zakman AKA The Professor and the Golovtards show how low this forum has sunk.

GGG destroyed Kovalev in sparring. Kovalev would lose to Andre Ward. Ward looks up to Mayweather. Mayweather only has problems with southpaws. GGG knocked out Proksa. ...The writing for this one is on the wall...
