It's a big risk, but Floyd would be capable of doing it.

Martinez seems more comfortable countering and only coming forward in spots than the other way around.

Tough fight on hands and needles but Floyd outpoints Martinez clearly.

I think a more interesting fight would be Sergio vs. Andre Dirrell.

    Styles make fights.

While Mayweather is a MUCH better pound for pound boxer than Barker (obviously) he doesn't have the same built-in defenses against Martinez's awkward attacks that Barker does in his length, muscular breadth, thick arms and of course that high Winky guard. Martinez would whip Mayweather in the face with some of those sneaky lefts that were bouncing off Barker's arms. Yeah, Mayweather might slip and dodge a couple but he'd get hit. His pull counters are also not going to be as effective against another hands-down reflex-based defense, whereas Barker could simply walk through shots absorbing them on his shield and wait his turn to throw short right hands once inside rather than counter-punch in traditional terms. Mayweather would almost certainly lose early rounds as Martinez made his usual sacrifice of stamina to be able to maneuver quickly around the ring (something Mayweather can't keep up with or do himself as well anymore, now that his legs are starting to go).

THAT said, I thought even before last night that Mayweather would still have a good chance against Martinez despite it being a risky proposition and a real challenge. Martinez did look visibly diminished last night, so Mayweather's chances only increase (as he is still extremely capable himself despite certain facets of his own game diminishing of late - and something tells me he'll cope with his decline better than Martinez and win the endurance contest that is longevity despite Martinez's late start...it's a marathon, not a sprint) and from his perspective the allure of moving up and becoming middleweight champion to add to his legacy has to be just that much more tempting now. Barker landed enough right hands to tell me that the best right hand in the game would make itself right at home on Sergio's face. Floyd 8-4.

You mean suck Sergio's dick and swallow his jizz in like 10 seconds, right? :-(

That **** would not be "easy" but after some early success for Sergio, Floyd would put a hurting on him late and win a comfortable UD.

I can't call it, but I will say Maravilla is a tad overhyped. Altho still a good figher.
