because he wasn't funny/smart enough to pull off the villain.

He got personal/made criminal accusations/made racial comments and what did he back it up with?

Nothing.. Just a bunch of hate.

Spewed caustic **** and then ducked the dude.

The ones who need to disappear are his haters, or at least keep their mouth shut. Seriously, if you want him to fade away it's simple - don't talk about him. The buzz generated by fans eventually turn into dollars and cents which goes into HIS pocket, not yours. Make him turn into yesterday's news. You Pac fans can't be that dumb. You're smart enough to figure it out, I'm sure of it. I'm a Floyd fan but I don't have a problem with him becoming irrelevant because I know for a fact I can still be entertained without him.

Luke come on....it's 2010...sports are crawling with PEDs

Floyd, or anyone, asking for extra testing is reasonable

Hell, I knew kids juicing when I was in high school, and that was the not the carefully engineered stuff that is available today

I hate to bring up the baseball thing AGAIN, and I apologize, but when Conseco accused people of juicing, he was attacked and laughed at ( I use this because Conseco had a bad rep, and was accusing those with a good rep...and turns out the guy with the bad rep was correct about the guys with good reps).

Now, as I say again, what he does in the ring, and what he does out, are two different things. If someone elevates an athlete to some role model, god, level, that is their own problem and weakness.

Look how many violent offenders are in the NFL...it's crazy. That being said, look how many NFL jersey's get sold every season.

Floyd should in no way lay a hand (violently) on a woman. That being said, I do not see the correlation between that, and boxing negotiations.

    huh?

stop pretending he was the only one

also, when you get into the ring, you can make your own negotiation demands, until then, i still don't see your point

i am not going to rehash this same old nonsense again, because their are already 1000 threads on it, with all the same info

Good, because if you did it would be you saying **** like "well, really big fights should have drug tests" while minor fights go untested.

Default position when you floyd huggers are dismantled to the basics.

Villain? forget the act, i think he's just a classic, egotistic, narcissistic, materialistic and every other stic (except spastic) *******. Thats all there is to it. More than enough to not be able to ignore it, even trying to like him only as a fighter. I cant support anymore of his fights or buy them, unless its gonna be vs Pacquiao lol....

will always consider him to be one of the best welterweights, but one of the worst "men" in boxing. Ive never lent support to his character and actively voiced against it here, and never bought into his PED accusation. I do believe that the commission needs to update their testing methods, but also understandable that its not financially feasible in most of the fights that occur.

He was the first titlebelt holder ive seen boo'd at his own boxing event...
its sad that his name may be most known in boxing.... mostly thru notoriety. That doesnt do well for boxing...

    sigh

the title fights idea came about due to $ issues

obviously guys getting $1500/fight can't spend $10k on testing

(and we both know the ABCs and commissions won't spend an extra dime)

i guess we could get into a whole economics debate, but frankly, i don't feel like it

You either give a **** about cleaning up the sport or you don't.

Cleaning up pacquiao vs the sport.

    You kids fail every time.

you cant just be a frickin man about the whole thing and admit you were wrong. scores of posters have had to read your ridiculous justifications for floyds cowardly behaviour for months now and now that you ran out of excuses you want to make it sound like anyone could have been fooled by floyd. lots of people told you who he was and you continue to call them haters. how about calling them "right".

i think there should be stricter testing...how hard is that to understand

however, it is not a centralized sport

every state (speaking in the USA of course) has their own commission and set of rules

    there are dozens of ABCs

    there is international competition

there is simple economics to deal with

because of the way the sport is setup, it does not allow for blanket policies....hell, if pac, margo was in LV they would be using 10oz. gloves not 8oz. gloves....so as you can see, even something as simple as glove size is not standard

and it doesn't stop in boxing...even mma, which is more centralized, has silly drug testing

but boxing and mma are small time sports in america compared to the MLB, NFL, and NBA...and even the MLB danced around PED testing for a long time

should boxing as a whole have better testing....yes

do i have a way for all boxers to get tested...no, at this time, it is not feasible
