I was thinking this, the amount of KO's isn't that different really considering Mayweather has fought better opponents but you have to remember Canelo turned over when he was 15 he has been fighting bigger guys. I definitely think Canelo hits harder but his stamina isn't good enough to finish guys sometimes.

Mayweather's resume at 23 was no better than Alvarez's is now.

and guys who fight at the light heavyweight limit enter the ring at 193 pounds.
    just a dumb ass comparison

    :patsch

  4. Floyd always stays in fighting shape, and I think he could handle the 140lb division. He can beat Lucas Matthysse because he throws wide looping off balance punches so Floyd would counter all night. Danny Garcia is a decent boxer/puncher but Floyd is just on another level. And the rest of the division is history.:deal

  5. As Canelo gets older his weight will end up reaching 200 based off of his frame, and he will not be able to dehydrate to make weight, so he will be moving up soon.

It won't be 200, not during his boxing career anyway. Maybe after he retires and gets fat.

  7. Not just opposition but look at some of the performances he put on, for example against Diego Corrales, it was a beautiful fight for Floyd if you understand boxing. Has Canelo put on Mayweather-Corrales type performance? No. Against a quality opponent? No. Don't say the Trout fight because if it wasn't for the biased judges and the knockdown in the 7th he would have lost. Canelo is all hype, which the Trout fight showed. Floyd was the real deal at 23.

  8. It's possible, you never know.:bbb

Mayweather's Amateur record was 84–6 while you had Canelo Alvarez Amateur record was 44-2.
They had to carefully match and develop Canelo when he became a professional boxer.

  10. Correct, but I think Floyd and Canelo have the same amount of power, Floyd just doesn't commit to his punches like Canelo does. At 126,130,135,140 he showed he has power, but once he moved to welterweight, he stopped committing to his punches. Especially since he has brittle hands. Canelo does not have 1 punch ko power, his ko's come from accumulative damage and so do Floyd's, if Floyd put more into his punches he would have more ko's than he has now, if he kept his hands healthy. But he doesn't take those risk, because to commit to a punch, you have to sit down on it, and Floyd will not risk his health or record on that. Canelo's power is overrated especially for a guy that come's in fight night between 170-175.

  11. Correct.:thumbsup

I can fight 30 Hartleys and knock them all out in the first round.

Would never compete with Mayweathers stoppages, however.
