Arum knows all it would take is for Cotto to say a few words to get the fight negotiation in motion. Arum isn't helping his fighter any by being his hype man.

How can he say all this **** about Floyd then say that he's the most talented fighter he's seen in his 40 plus years in boxing since Ali?

 

As far as fearlessness is concerned, Floyd can't carry Pacquiao's jock strap.

Arum is saying this but he eluded to alot of things that are going to hurt negotiations.

Cotto isn't going to fight in Vegas and Floyd hasn't fought outside of Vegas since Gatti.

HBO can press the fight to happen ... they're the true promoter.

 

From my understanding we all want to see him fight Cotto right? Where is the offer? We are talking about here and now. Floyd haters are quick to critisize him about not fighting Cotto but his promoter is just talking without making an attempt to actually make the fight happen.

He fought Baldo to grab the true champioship belt for th same amount and Floyd was nowhere near the status he is at now when he called Cotto out then. Floyd didn't have a big fanbase either at that point. Cotto is better now but he was still knocking fighters out back then.

 

This is all the build up for the fight ... HBO commentators, boxing writers, and Arum are working the fans and building up the fight to the boiling point.

A victory over Margarito will be the right time for Cotto to call out Floyd ... he's going to say "I just did something that PBF was affraid to do" ... then Floyd is going to tell Ellerbe to make the Faux'n fight.

I firmly believe that it was Arum's plan originally to hype Margarito as much as possible so that the victory would seem much better for his true thoroughbred in Cotto. The guy has been talking openly about how it's his dream fight since the end of 2006 if I remember. He has worked about a 10th as hard to bring Margarito along the same way he has with Cotto; which is pretty much all talk.

 

Why did Floyd turn down the 8 mill to fight Margo...that is something that you cats always forget to mention when you bring this up. It was because he was going to fight Oscar for 15 million plus a percentage of PPV and gate which netted Floyd a cool 25 mill.

Besides that like wasnt a good faith offer from Arum, it was only made once the fight with Oscar was on the table. The fact remains that Margo had a chance to fight Floyd as a replacement for Judah and he turned it down.

Arum is playing games with these two fighters(Cotto, Margo). It was the same thing with when they were going to fight eachother some time back. Margo felt like Arum was lowballing him for a fight with Cotto, Arum said that is all your going to get, if you dont like it you can fight williams. But once the fight with Williams was made Arum did everything in his power to stop the fight.

Margo vs Cotto is his dream fight, its his way of trying to get one of them to the top without fighting floyd. Something that you guys have to keep in mind, Floyd has already beat two of Arums golden boys. He isnt going to put the winner of Margo cotto in with Floyd as easy as some seem to think.

 

thank you , at least someone see arum for what he is . People forget Margarito started believing the Hype Arum had built on him and went behind Arum back to make the Williams fight for more money and almost got sued by arum

and let not forget that Arum originally said that Margarito lost his fight to williams , but once he had Margarito kissing his ring finger again, did he change his tune about who won the fight .
