I'd probably argue that if anyone cracked Hatton's chin it was Collazo, so maybe we should go about crediting Collazo for Mayweather's victory over Ricky Hatton instead. Oh wait, that would be illogical. Hatton was coming off a wonderful performance at 140lbs, and he was devastated in round 2 by a fighter who was completely unknown to the division. If you can't find it in your heart to even credit Manny with an ounce of credibility I'd be liable to call you a label you a cynic.
lmfao addie at your first part..**** DONT WORK LIKE THAT...LMFAO...SO AFTER THE CORLEY FIGHT DID YOU SAY "WELL SOMEONE ELSE WILL FIND HIM LIKE CORLEY DID" NICE POINTS BUT IT DONT WORK LIKE THAT MAN....JUST CUZ U GET HIT FLUSH ONCE DONT MEAN $HIT...U ACT LIKE JUST CUZ SHANE LANDED SOMETHING ON FLOYD THAT IT 'EXPOSED' FLOYD..IF ANYTHING IT ANSWERED QUESTIONS MAN.. UR WAY WAY WAY OFF...IF U REALLY THINK "JUST CUZ MOSLEY FOUND HIM" THAT PAC CAN TOO..U REALLY ARE OFF MAN. LMFAO...IT SHOWS HOW INVOLVED A POSTER IS WHEN THEY SAY "ONE FIGHTER LANDED IT SO IF ANOTHER DOES THAN ITS OVER"..DONT WORK LIKE THAT.. AGAIN..FLOYD WENT HOW MANY FIGHTS WITHOUT TAKING A TRULY FLUSH SHOT FROM CORLEY TO ZAB..NOW GO LOOK AT ZAB TO MOSLEY... SUP WIT YO ANALYSIS NI33A:rofl:rofl FILLED WITH HOLEShat
Same old whining and sidetracking. Why don't you create something new, something like this. - When Floyd came back he's unrated, PAC the current #1 guy. - PAC KO'ed Hatton cold and further raises his stock as #1. - Floyd dominated JMM and claimed #2 spot. - PAC TKO'ed Cotto and again distancing himself from Floyd. - PAC dominated Clottey and further pulling away from Floyd. - Floyd dominated Mosley closing the gap fast but NOT ENOUGH to overtake PAC.
It's true, I follow one fighter. Checkout my Youtube channel. www.Youtube.com/AddieBoxing Enjoy :good
Out on a limb? He was in his prime at 140 and was fighting at his optimal weight. All you have to do is watch those fights to see he was performing at an optimal level. Mayweather's history has shown us that the hype surrounding the guy he's fighting will not negatively affect his performance. A fighter's style, not his status, will affect how well Mayweather fights. Castillo, Augustus and Chavez gave him his 3 toughest fights. They weren't the 3 best fighters he fought. Meanwhile, he put on his best performances against some of the best guys he fought. :good Fair enough. No, and Pacquiao isn't going to checkhook Hatton into the turnbuckle either. Pacquaio doesn't throw checkhooks, Mayweather doesn't throw punches from his hip.
I haven't even given an analysis, and seriously, stop with the caps you ****ing pimp. :yep I refrain from using the word exposed too, I just think Manny could hurt Floyd and capitalize on it. I'd never seen Floyd look as vulnerable before.
Marquez moved up 10 fukin pounds for fuk sakes. You act like it was david vs. goliath lol How many fighters have moved up successfully in the history of boxing? A LOT. Regardless, beating Shane like that was epic and that catapulted him above Manny while Manny takes a safe fight in a feather fisted man that doesn't punch. lol floyd's the favorite -- OBVIOUSLY
The Oscar win isn't all that legit, granted. It was still an impressive performance. Hatton looked as good as he ever did against Paulie, and Pac beat him at his best weight. And Pac was much more dominant. Cotto was young and in his physical prime and it's still yet to be seen how damaged he really is. Clottey was a top 5 welterweight and much, much bigger than Pac. He didn't throw any punches because Pac never stopped throwing punches. Manny shut him out.
I don't think there's sufficent evidence to prove what you are saying, BigReg. Floyd Mayweather in all probability would look every bit as good if he was fighting average fighters at 147lbs also...like he did against Juan Manuel Marquez, for example. Looked like a million dollars and that's to his credit, but beating Aturo Gatti and DeMarcus Corley efficiently is not indicative of his prime in my judgment. Marco Antonio Barrera is my favorite fighter of all time, a man who was man handled by Manny Pacquiao incidentally, and I believe his prime to have been at 126lbs? Why? Because that's where his most efficient and best performances came against the most accomplished opposition. That only makes sense to me, unless I see significant changes in other areas...like Muhammad Ali post-exile for example. I don't envision Hatton being beaten significantly worse at his best weight than he was at 147lbs.
Floyd didn't dominate Hatton or DLH. He was given tough fights by both. Pacquiao, on the other hand, did dominate them.
How many former Featherweights have operated effectively at 147lbs and remained competitive throughout history? By former Featherweight I mean fighters who got a lot of work done at 126lbs like Marquez did.
Tough fights my ass. Floyd cracked Hatton's chin for Pac, and he fought a much bigger DLH at DLH'S prime weight an still outboxed him easy. Roach even admitted that he ok'd the fight with Oscar because he saw how cutting weight affected DLH in the Forbes fight. Pac was the bigger man in the ring.
Along with the knockouts, I referenced 3 relatively recent fights to counter your assertion made based on 2 punches thrown in one "particular round." Yes, Pacman's work rate is what makes this an intriguing fight. I don't hold the opinion that Floyd will easily walk over Pacman, though it is possible. Manny's speed and workrate will make Floyd uncomfortable, think of the first 3 rounds of the Judah fight. What concerns me about Manny is his consistency in terms of opening up for big combos & leaving himself open for huge counters. Floyd's lead right hand & check hooks are the perfect antidote for Manny's aggression. Besides Floyd, the best counterpuncher in boxing is Marquez(IMO), and we saw the problems Manny had in those fights. To compound matters for Pac, Floyd's hand speed and accuracy are superior to Marquez's or any opponent he has faced. He could also bully Pacman inside with his superior size and inside boxing skills. Bottom line, Manny's explosivelness is a huge threat regardless of who he fights, but as a betting man, I'd take Floyd, he' simply has more tools to work with. What adjustment is Manny going to make if he has to? He only knows one style, Floyd can make 10 different effective adjustments to his style if he has to.
