Just re-watched Hatton Mayweather ( again ) , great performance by Mayweather, Ricky looked good that night but was soundly beaten by the better man.

What would you say his best showing was against ?

I know Im gonna catch alot of **** for this probably, but whatever.

I honestly feel that MAYWEATHER'S BEST PERFORMANCE was against JMM. Yes, I know, JMM was blown up 2 weight classes, and Mayweather came in overweight.

But Floyd's footwork, that left hook, the pull-counter right hand, the defence. I feel like that was the best performance of his career thus far.

    Surely its Corrales?

Corrales was an unbeaten wrecking machine at the time who was 10lbs heavier than Floyd, and Floyd beat him senseless.

The JMM fight, even though Floyd came overweight and JMM was blown up himself

Has to be either Corrales or the Gatti fight. However my favourite performance from floyd was against the underrated chavez.

Good shout, i remember finding the fight a bit boring at the time but marquez's subsequent showings have shown that was a great performance.

i like this fight because, floyd actually lost a few rounds and was uncomfortable for a large part of this fight. but he found a way to win.

Marquez and Gatti are the best for highlight reed Floyd, but thouse guys were suited perfectly for floyd to destoy.

Corrales is his best performance IMO

Corrales hands down. No many expected Floyd to win , much less display such a dominant performance.
I give him no credit for the useless battering of Gatti who was a clubfighter who had already failed miserably stepping up in class.
Hatton, a good fighter but tailor made for Floyd. Floyd is way too good to give any advantage to and both Hatton and Marquez were too small to really make a challenge.

I agree and even though JMM is my all time favourite fighter and like you said was blown up - Floyd really did make easy work of it.

Corrales was his best no doubt, but my favorite would have to be against Judah.

Love how he broke him down with body shots.
