Only if you have seen a fighter who was labeled shot 3 years ago then became unshot after successful fights with B fighters.

Whoever said Cotto was shot in the first place is a ****in idiot. Shot fighters can't move, cant pull the trigger, can't get out of the way of a punch, can't throw with power, can't take a punch, so on and so forth. Cotto can still do all those things, some of them very well.
Cotto got two ass whoopin's before the Mayweather fight and came back, he's not ****in shot. People will say anything to fit their agenda, its pathetic.

    I voted for Mosley, too.

Cotto was largely viewed as 'damaged goods' going into this one, where Mosley was coming off of the destruction of Margarito. The perception from many (myself included) was that Floyd was "backed into a corner" and had no choice but to take the Mosley fight after the Berto fight fell through.

In my eyes it's not even close - the Mosley win was far better.

I agree here too. While I myself didn't hold the same view of Cotto's "shotness" post Pac and Margarito beatdowns, the public perception was still there undeniably

It is difficult to say. This bit about Ring's ranking of Mosley is a bit of a poor argument though. That was a self-serving, silly-ass p4p ranking from Ring. Cotto proved the bigger challenge, possibly as a matter of styles, but keep in mind that the weight of history falls much heavier on Mosley's name than Cotto's despite how you would assess the two at the time and place they were defeated.

More importantly than that, though, Shane's stock was still sky-high off the Margarito win (even though more than a year had passed).

Floyd was coming off the 1 victory over Marquez, in which he was largely ridiculed as a choice of opponent given he was a lightweight in all reality.

Even if you didn't think Cotto was shot and believed he would put forth a spirited effort, his status still wasn't on the level that Mosley's had been.

Victories over Foreman, Mayorga, and Margo weren't overly impressive as a whole, when compared to what Shane had done to Margo in light of Margo's destruction of Cotto.

Strangely enough, at the end of the day Cotto may have wound up being a better OPPONENT, but Mosley still constitutes the better WIN.

At least as I see it.

i clicked on the wrong one

    i meant mosley.

just because people said floyd were scared of mosley and he proved them wrong.

also mosley was the #1 ww and #3 p4p fighter at the time.

Mosley was barely a 3/1 underdog. Some in the media gave Mosley a serious chance. Many thought Floyd was forced to take this fight.

Cotto was a 7/1 underdog and no one gave him a chance. The only question was how he loses.

Mosley had come off his destruction of Margarito and was #3 p4p. Sure, the *****s will have u believe Cotto was somehow this new fighter but it is what it is. He was brutally beaten twice. The fact that the fight was at 154 helps but they are very close in size.

How on Earth is the Cotto win better?

I'll say both wins are on par with eachother.

Cotto. You can't compare the Cotto of now with a shell of what Mosley use to be.
