    guy thats never been down has a average to below average chin....right

    Right, His chin is good enough when combined with his defense.
    Iron chin = Gets hit a lot of times with hard shots in a fight but does not get Knocked out. Example Guillermo Jones, Provodnikov, Mariusz Wach

    Iron Chin one of the greatest chin's in the history of the sport. He has never been down by a punch

    Roy Jones had an "iron chin" until it finally started getting hit regularly as his reflexes dimmed.

    Or until he had to lose all of that weight.

    Roy's chin was average in his prime, not iron.

    He took shots from Toney, Griffin, Ruiz and Tarver that would have taken him out after the Tarver KO..

    It went downhill for sure, but the Del Valle knockdown lets you know it wasn't iron..

    It certainly wasn't glass though. He would have been knocked out before going from 154 to HW.
