And Hopkins picked up this philosophy as he had to adapt as well...

His speed has changed. Specifically with his legs. But so has his hand-speed. Even if its still very fast. its still declined a bit.

O', and Do yourself a favor and try not to listen to the fancy sayings so much... Because you might fall into the trap of trying to stand up to the one "Bully" that is legit and find out that the bully is the bully because he can f****** fight.

EVERYONE, regardless of how much they take care of themselves, will age, decline, and die....until they figure out how to stop it.

But I hear ya. I like the quote too. It feels so positive. :D

By the way, you do realize that Cotto is no spring chicken right, at 31 and been in numerous wars and possibly beaten for eleven rounds with plaster I would say he's more worse for wear than Floyd, Miguel also has changed from a relentless banger to a boxer puncher, so Floyd will not be at a disadvantage when it comes to who fresher and/or who's declined more...

    true

    He's a Sniper.

And the last bit reminds me of this...Hit and Don't get hit and the psychology behind it and its effects on the opponent. D'Amato/Tyson

Jirov vs. Toney. Toney had the same mindset. I'm to old and fat to chase you around...but I still got my Brain, and I got my technique...Come to me...let's go.

Overall, my point was to ask if Floyd realizes his own mortality. And how that affects his own mindset going forward (with who he possibly faces)...as well as what opponents are seeing from this version of Floyd and if their confidence is going up.

Iron Mike was a bad man in his prime when he was focused and motivated, when he lost Cus that was the worst that could happen to him and his development, Tyson also employed the hit and not get hit mentality but the way he executed his defense by the rapid head movement and upper body movement it is an exhausting maneuver, couple that with the ferocity in which he threw his punches and you could see why Mike would fade down the stretch, he expended lots of energy not only on offense but defense as well...he was well conditioned but that takes alot out of you...

The Mayweather style of defense expense little energy and is extremely effective and just like Tyson his defense and counterpunching wears on a fighter mentally and once you start to question whether you can win or not its pretty much over for you...

I don't think Floyd has any intentions of fighting young, prime, hungry champions, he's more into named opponents, not saying he wouldn't face say a Canelo for the money involved but trust me if Canelo looks to good against Shane I don't expect that fight to push through, Canelo is big, strong and has very good power, may be to high risk...

Now on the other hand I can see him fighting young champions like Lamont Peterson, Andre Berto if he beats Vic or Khan, but the fight I think will happen is Bradley v Mayweather, I think that's the upset that's brewing, Pac vs Tim...but as far as his opponents being confident because they feel Floyd's age is catching up with him, in my opinion any knowledgeable fighter knows its more about Floyd conditioning and his very high ring I.Q. this is the biggest hurdle they will need to overcome...
