Okay, I'm new, so forgive me if this has been argued ad-nausium... I used to be Floyd fan but recognized the obvious avoidance of fighting the best...Since he claims to be the GOAT and my lack of memory for his career defining fights (besides Castillo and Corrales), especially at WW, I looked at his record over the past 6 years of fighting WW.... His WW resume is pretty average. Beating Baldomir did NOTHING for him, despite being the linear title. I've said it once, I'll say it again. The title is only as good a the champ. He would have gotten a ton more respect had he beaten Margarito for his belt.
Gatti was at 140 and DLH at 154. He fought TWO lineal champions at 147, Mosley and Baldomir. Margarito was never a good option anyway, what has the guy accomplished in 2006 to be a better opponent than Baldomir or Judah?. Clottey's highlight came when he fought Cotto, back in 2006 his accomplishments were losing to Margarito and Baldomir, honestly you think he was a good choice of opponent?. Berto?, you know Berto won Mayweather's vacant WBC title after Mayweather retired and before that he was still rising?, I hope you do know. Cotto and Paul Williams are good picks but even Cotto was scheduled, dated and planned to fight Margarito after two tune-up fights as Arum already announced.
Yeah because Margarito MADE his paper title worth something, right? Please mention what has Margarito done at that stage to be a better opponent?. Compare Baldomir going in as the WBC mandatory and 10-1 underdog beating WBC/WBA/IBF Champion Zab Judah to anything Margarito did at that stage. I hope you won't go your usual pig mode and say Andrew "Six heads Zero chins" Lewis was the highlight at that stage and I hope you KNOW that's a paper title he had all those years which did nothing but bring him crap fights because of his OWN decision. As soon as that belt dropped the Cotto fights and better ones started to arrive yet when everyone said that he's better off dropping the WBOgus you were all against it going defensive like you're Margarito left testicle.
As he already stated, and I'm sure you're playing stupid, he said he needed a break off for his body and hand to heal and I'm sure everyone(including yourself) knows this.
Lineal don't mean **** in today's boxing world. What matters is HOW you defend your title to seperate you from others. You can let your ***** bleed and keep crying about Margarito, but HE was defending his belt consistently against RING RANKED WW's. He beat MORE Rin ranked WW's at thr time then Baldomir, Judah, AND FLoyd COMBINED. What does Zab do? Lose his belt to a ****in journeyman, and all of a sudden, that's supposed to make Baldomir really good? Big deal..."He beat two lineal WW champs..." NOw go check under your bed Scar, make sure the Margarito boogie man isn't there...:thumbsup
Dude...Judah has proven to be a BUST! And Baldomir....BALDOMIR!! Guys hasn't done **** before OR after his title. That should tell you how good he was. Same with Judah, ZILCH!! Are you really in that much denial? Only **** heads like you think Judah and baldomir were great fights for him. Go **** a camel you stinking loser.... :thumbsup
So who are those RING RANKED elites he fought?, care to remind us?. You said the champion makes the belt, so by that I assume the champion makes it by fighting elite opposition, who are those guys he fought and beat and why didn't they earn him the attention he deserves?. You honestly want to tell me that skipping an already available lineal champion was nothing and him beating those ring ranked lineal elites(Andrew "six heads zero chins" Lewis, Gomez, Lujan and Cintron? ). How did he skip DLH, Mosley, Forrest, Mayorga, Spinks and others?. Obviously you say he was doing SO good that these guys should have been forced to NOT fight each other and immediately rush after Margarito coming fresh off a win over Andrew Lewis(who Mayorga iced before Margarito finally showed his impressive wrath), true? What Margarito boogie man?, you?. You can afford to travel?
