What's pathetic is that your best retort (you must think so, you keep repeating it in every thread) is something you know is false.

Sadly yes, the issue of the PacMan will always cast a dark shadow over him, especially now that he's made it known money is the reason he doesn't want to fight and wants the PPV king in 3 of the past 4 years (who also had the highest gate in those years) to take 0% of the PPV revenue.

I'll ask you like I've asked some of your fellow fliptards when they posted the same "0%" BS: If $40 million guaranteed includes 0% of the PPV revenue then where in the **** do you think that money is coming from? :think

Probably from GBP, they expect to recoup it with ppv revenue. You understand if this fight grossly underperforms (not that it would), Pac would still get his guarantee, and somebody would be at a huge loss? Similarly, if it overperforms, Pac doesn't see a penny more. Strange, even Cotto got PPV upside.

    Mayweather-Cotto

    During Mayweather's Ring Entrance:

Jim Lampley: "I think Mayweather has done a good job in the 24/7 series of selling this fight!"

Emmanuel Steward: "I completely agree and I think Mayweather does not want to risk that undefeated record if he's making the same money where he's certain that he going to win!"

    :good

Obviously. The live gate, concessions and revenue from sponsors won't come close to $40 million even before costs, so that $40 million guarantee would obviously include a big chunk of PPV money.

Tecate beer doesn't give cases and cases of beer to get their product broadcast during the fight. They pay millions to have that. Those brand logos aren't printed on the ring floor or hanged around it because they make it look good. They are there because those manufacturers shelled out millions of money to have their brand on those prime real estates for viewers and spectators to see. And commercials, they're not aired to keep us entertained in between rounds. The broadcasters are paid to air them to promote the products.

Commercials ads and sponsors are the ones paying for those guaranteed purse, in favor of marketing exposure of their products during the telecast. The money coming from ppv is where the bulk of the profit, I repeat, profit not revenue, comes from. And that's why, fights are made and/or broken by the ppv profit split not by the guaranteed purse.
