Since people care so much about Floyd's finances and the financial situation of his family, I'm curious to know who they think he should fight.

Notice, I didnt include the option of Cotto or Williams taking a year or 2 to clean out the division and remain undefeated.

a rematch against dlh would be the more lucrative fight.

legacy-wise would be better for him.

Floyd is going to do the smart thing by waiting.
Let all the top contenders fight it out.
The last one standing will be the most lucrative.

It's either Cotto or Oscar rematch. Who the **** has heard of Williams except the diehard fans? He couldn't draw flies to **** from the mainstream. They'd be lucky if HBO even bothered to put it on PPV.

Mayweather - Cotto is the fight that I want to see, but Floyd would make more money in a rematch with De La Hoya.

Maybe a fight at middlewt would generate a lot of $$$$.

Oscar fought from 130-154, before moving up for a tune-up with Sturm and then facing Bernard.

Floyd has fought from 130-154. He could take a warm-up with Abraham and then face Kelly.

Only thing is, Kelly is not as big as Bernard nor as good. But it would put him on near the same plane as oscar, resume-wise.

I don't think that Mayweather could put on enough weight to fight in the middleweight division.

I really dont see a fight with Oscar being that much money. I dont think it would generate even half as many PPV buys.

I can see a fight with Pavlik making a lot of money, but I doubt that would happen. Outside of jumping up to a ridiculous weight class and fighting Pavlik or Calzaghe, Floyd's biggest fight IMO would be an undefeated Cotto.

Does anyone honestly believe a 2nd fight with DLH would be more exciting or that a 2nd fight with Hatton would be more competitive?

    Oscar rematch.

    But he should fight Cotto.

He can't fight Winky at 154. Winky can't go down from 170 from 154, and he's been fighting at Middleweight since 2005!

He would get the MOST MONEY in a rematch with De La Hoya

The most MEANINGFUL fight and the fight that the fans want the most is against Cotto

I would love to see Mayweather-Williams, but unless Williams does some great things in the division soon, this fight wont happen.

Let PBF take his requisite time off. Sign Cotto/DeLaHoya NOW! If Cotto takes that one he's elevated to superstar status making Mayweather/Cotto a viable commodity. If DLH can pull it off (I wouldn't be suprised), then the DLH/PBF rematch is on and it would be a bigger payday with more PPV buys than the first time around! Reason being, PBF is already much bigger than he was the first time around after 2 big wins over DLH & Hatton. And DLH off the heels of a Cotto conquest would be right back in the limelight. "WE" (ESB Forum) all want to see Cotto/PBF. "Joe Public" would rather see DLH again.

Come on, all the Floyd fans and analysts.

    It's been nearly two hours.

Tell me why Floyd wouldn't pursue this line.

Lucrative for legacy or money? He says " I have money so it must not be for money".

Floyd's fans seem to think he could clean up even 160. If thats true he might as well go and beat Abraham or Pavlik and guaranttee him as one of the most phenomenal fighters of all time.

I think if he just cleans up welter he could retire without ever loosing any sleep over "what if syndrome"

If he wants to equal Oscar, he has to face the challenges at 160 !
