What are the choices for floyd if cotto and canelo fight?

    Ring magazine rankings welterweight:

    1. floyd mayweather........
    2. manny pacquio - possible opponent
    3. kell brook - won't be ready for a fight in may.
    4. Amir khan - possible opponent
    5. Timothy bradley - bradley coming off a draw.
    6. marquez - marquez probably retiring.
    7. shawn porter - coming off loss.
    8. keith thurman - definitly won't happen for many reasons.
    9. Robert guerror - Re-match unnecessary.
    10. Maidana - Already fought twice.

Looks like pacquio and khan are the only two options in WW division

    yeah...

Khan v brook versus the winner of floyd v pac
If khan beats brook then pac or floyd at wembley would be great

Yeah, I can also see there being financial complications due to Floyd not giving them a return on their money.

Has to be Khan or Manny. Anything else just isn't good enough.

I tend to think if it isn't pac or cotto he may just sit out until September.
Any other fight and he will lose out to cotto canelo over the May date and have to pick another date.
he was talking about maybe taking a break after the last maidana fight and then he could save face and not have to "give up" the May date.

    1.) Manny Pacquiao
2.) Miguel Cotto, rematch: (For Ring Magazines World Middleweight title @160, no catchweight!).
3.) Amir Khan (At Wembly Stadium.)

Floyd will duck Pac and fight Cotto/Khan and then Danny Garcia (he already started the hype for this fight when he said he would love to fight at MSG or Barclay's).

knowing mayweather, he may just go for brook because he has a belt, low rosk high reward because Brook came off an upset win. Again showing mayweather fights guys coming off wins and not losses.

Or he may shock and surprise everyone by moving up to 160 fora big fight. There is a reason mayweather always stays quiet. This is how he markets the fights. He gains attention and interest.

i think floyd shocks everybody and chooses to retire...

really no challenges left for him. pacman won't take the PED test, thurman is unproven, khan is not a draw and has been beaten so many times it's not gonna gain floyd anything to beat him too, brook is unproven...

Good point...too bad brook isn't hyped enough to seem viable...every mayweather opponent (since leaving top rank) was a world champ at the time of the fight (minus mosley who won the wba super world title against margarito over a year before...marquez unified champ at lw...hatton a champ at lww). Considering this combined with my opinions is a list of possibilities:

Danny Garcia: Unified Champ at LWW, hope they don't try to sell this trash
Kell Brook: IBF WW Champ, "he payed his dues" (unlike khan).
Cotto: WBC MW Champ, "he fought a tough fight" and a world championship at an additional weight class. If FMJ wins, he will hold belts in 1-3 different divisions at once. Most likely fight imo.

The following are clown shows but have been mentioned:
JCC Jr: I saw an article where Jr claims that he had been in talks about meeting FMJ at a 158 lb catchweight....:verysad
    GGG: I wish.....:rofl
Hopkins: Said he was willing to do a catchweight...I think this fight could be sold to some of us suckers out there. :nut

Out of those top ring welters, it's Pacquiao, Khan, Thurman. In that order.

All signs point to Amir Khan.
