To be officially ranked at welter top 10, he should fight a welter in the ranks.

Theres no way Mayweather can be ranked number one at welter until he actually beats a welterweight that matters.... his best wins at welter are what?????? judah and baldomir??? give me a break.... Mosley stays number one no matter HOW BAD mayweather beats JMM.

I can see Mosley at #1 but I don't see him beating a Mayweather thats fine tuned! His best wins at WW are against the last 2 ring Champs and the last 2 #1 guys there before he retired at #1 regardless of who they are!

If Floyd wins...his last two fight at 147 would be against a JrWW and a LW. Sure...lets make him # ****in 1 there... :patsch

    Margarito...
    Cotto...
    Williams...
    Mosley...

Have ALL BEATEN better or tougher or just MORE WW's. Floyd's biggest win at 147 is Baldomir...a journeyman who got lucky.

Let him FACE SOME WW's before you rank him there...how crazy does that sound? :patsch

    to those saying #1 P4P

If Joe Calzaghe came back and were to fight Lucian Bute at lt.hvyweight and win does he come back into the charts as the #2 P4P?

Floyd's the number 1 ww, and the best fighter in the world. He is #1 in both categories.

    WW:
    1. Mosley
    2. Pacquiao
    3. Mayweather

    P4P:
    1. Pacquiao
    2. Mayweather
    3. Hopkins

If Pacquiao loses to Cotto, then Mayweather is back at #1.

Floyd is looking for big fights. He has risen 4 divisons, after dominating sfw, and won titles in all 4 divisions that he rose to. Shane bypassed 140, and rose 2 divisions, won titles at 135 and 147, and is currently at 147. AM rose 1 division winning titles only at 147, Cotto rose 1 division, and won titles at 140 and 147, and Williams rose 2 divisions winning titles at ww. If I'm wrong correct me(not talking about where guys started but where they first won a title at and then moved up).

Floyd does not want to fight a couple of ww's. He wants the best ww/fighter/superfight period. If that isn't cleared up, he will fight money fights just like PAc is doing. You keep saying that Floyd won't do this when he isn't retired so you're just giving us an opinion of what he won't do lol... That can be done with any fighter you don't like. You guys loved Floyd until he started talking shite. Then he became a punk/thug. Yeah...

Floyd is currently emeritus P4P #1 and WW #1... Normally emeritus champ should fight the current champ if they decide to comeback but Floyd picked JMM for his comeback fight... JMM is no WW boxer but he's #2 P4P...

Granting Floyd defeats JMM, he'll be back as #2 P4P behind Pacquiao and at welterweight, he can be ranked as high as #3 behind Mosley and Cotto...

Then if PAC defeats Cotto in November, PAC takes the #1 WW rankings followed by Mosley then Floyd... Cotto drops to #4 ...

I agree that he wants the best superfight at this stage of his career, and deservedly so. But at the same time, you therefore can't argue that he's the #1 welterweight when he hasn't fought a Top 10 welter since Baldomir, then retired, basically giving up his linear/world title. Look who he's fought since Baldomir.

    DLH = not Top 10 at 147 (it was a non-title fight at 154)
Hatton = not Top 10 at 147 (moving up from 140)
Marquez = not Top 10 at 147 (moving up from 135)

Your argument for Floyd P4P #1 = most would disagree, but understandable
Your argument for Floyd WW #1 = totally invalid

Wow.... FLoyd must have some big ass nuts for this many people to be able to hug on them. This man comes off of a 2 year duck *not lay off, we all know he was waiting..* He hasn't fought the best to be the best, yet you still rank up towards the top....

:good Floyd beat the only guys who mattered at the time before he retired. Right now you really can't pick a clear #1 at ww if you don't have Floyd there. Cotto beat Shane, Cotto lost to AM, and Shane beat AM. Williams beat AM, lost to Quintana. Clottey has suspect losses with Cotto and AM. Floyd has not lost at ww. So it comes down to who he didn't fight at ww. So it becomes opinion. I can't have Floyd the best fighter in the world, and have him the #3 or 4 ww.
