EVERY boxer fights for the money. If not for money then for what? Everything else is bull**** and secondary when it comes to providing for yourself and you family. I know i dont come to this shitty job everyday because i like it, but b/c i have to.

Would you get your head smashed for free? I wouldnt...

What do you mean Floyd needs to 'stop bullshittin'? He just fought Hatton a few weeks ago. Since when do fighters make their next fight three weeks after their last one? Floyd fights twice a year, he probably won't announce his next fight for several more weeks.

Floyd will fight Cotto or Mosley, those are the only real fights to be made. Relax, it will happen, just give it time. What makes you think just because Floyd is teasing the media saying he might retire, or he might go to MMA, that this is going to be any different than the last two times Floyd retired?

And Stealth Bomber I don't think your Hagler analogy is quite correct. How was Sugar Ray Leonard the other best middleweight of at the time of his retirement, when he hadn't even ever fought at middleweight? He had only fought at welterweight and junior middleweight. When he announced he was going to come back to fight Hagler people didn't say "Finally!" they said "RAy is crazy!"

No one fights just to fight you idiot!!
To promte a fight cost money!
To televise a fight cost money!
trainers and sparring partners cost money!
if fighter gets enjured did you know he fits the bill out of his own pocket!
also try getting life insurance as boxer, next to impossible..
Barkely lives at home with mother in the projects!
McCallen is blind, broke and death with 3 sons!!
Corralles died broke with 3 kids and one the way!
sugar ray Robinson and joe luis both died penniless .
thats what wrong with boxing, most of these fighters were taken advantage of by the sport of boxing, promoters and mangers!

I crave to see another very talented boxer, fight 4 to 5 times a year only against top competition no matter who they are. Someone willing to fight..win..lose or draw ! Not proclaim he's the best of all time with less than 40 professional fights behind his belt !!

How many did Sugar Ray Robinson have by the time he called it quits ? Not saying you need to fight a hundred times, but you sure need to test yourself repeatedly !!

I give props to Oscar De La Hoya in his prime for at least fighting all the top fighters available back then...Hernandez, Chavez, Quartey, Whitaker, Trinidad, Mosley, Vargas, Hopkins, etc..
