Right.... so mosley, who had a close fight with cotto, dominated collazo, and knocks out margarito, and is signed to fight berto

shouldnt be above floyd, who has been retired for two years, and beat jmm?

    u for real?

this isnt p4p, this is the welterweight rankings.... can you please tell me the last time he fought a top 10 welterweight?

or are we going by that lovely 'well, he would beat everyone anyways' ranking system?

i dont see how a rational person, even if they were a floyd fan, would rank mayweather above mosley.

think about what you are saying. The whole point of the rankings is to rank the fighters from best to worst. If PBF is higher than Mosley on a p4p list, then that means he is considered a better fighter than Mosley. And if both Mayweather and Mosley are in the same division, then Mayweather should be above Mosley in the rankings of that division, unless Mosley is the champion, which isn't the case right now.

Its not like Floyd is still a JrWW fighting at WW. He is a WW. Therefore if someone says Floyd is better than Mosley, who is also a WW, then he should rank PBF ahead of Mosley in his WW rankings.

what doesn't make sense is people who rank Floyd above Shane in their p4p list but Shane above Floyd in their WW list. Its a contradiction.

    Bottom line:

If Shane is a better WW than Floyd, then he is a better p4p fighter. They are both welterweights.

The only way you can have Shane above Floyd at WW and Floyd above Shane in the p4p list is if you still think that Floyd can fight at 140. But keep in mind he couldn't even make a 144lb catchweight.

Not really, p4p is very subjective, and often can go by 'who do you THINK would win between the two'

Welterweight rankings is much less subjective and go off of accomplishments....

I cant argue if someone has mayweather above mosley based off of him never being 'officially' dethroned and based off their supposed opinion that he would beat shane. However, i would have a problem with them ranking him ahead of shane within the 147lb weightclass as of right now because hes been gone for almost two years, and hasnt fought a ranked welterweight in probably close to 4 years.... thats insane.

He has hatton come up, goes up to fight hoya, is gone for two years, and has jmm move up, that might keep him above shane p4p, because p4p is so subjective, but it doesnt in the welterweight division, where mosley has beaten collazo, margarito, had a razor thin fight with then number one cotto, and is now signed to fight one of the undefeated young guns of the division.

i know what your saying, but the difference between the two lists is p4p includes what floyd has been doing, p4p the hatton, hoya, and jmm wins were alright, in the welterweight division, they dont really mean ****. see what im saying?

just my opinion at least :thumbsup

I'd have him 4th behind Pacman, Mosley, and cotto.

    :D

The last opponent he fought before he run to retirement is Hatton who is a 140 pounder . . . the first opponent he fought when he came back is JMM who is a 135 pounder . . . and he doesn't have a title now

. . . therefore Mosely and Pac should be rated above him. :deal

not true. the smoke cleared when margarito beat cotto, and floyd "retired" prior to that fight because after that fight there would be no room for excuses.

And then Mosely beat Margarito and Margarito was suspended for padding his gloves...yes, that certainly made things much clearer. Of course, as mentioned, Floyd was essentially retired for this period. And somehow you manage to accuse him of retiring due to things that hadn't even happened.

    That's some special logic.

I've contemplated a similar ranking, but now if you throw Pac in there, he falls lower IMO. the simple truth is that he hasnt fought anyone at welter to deserve such a high ranking.

Good point this one , if Shane ranks above Floyd @147 why does he not rank above him P4P ?????

Personally i think Floyd should come in at 3 @147 , behind Shane and Pac , Pac being the #1 !!!!!
