I'm confused. So if Pacman is PFP#1 and is also fighting in the welterweight division now same as FMJ and Shane that will make him the #1 welterweight as well according to your theory.. I think there must be something wrong that theory.. :?
the only special logic is that of those that defend every move that floyd makes. floyd was not retired when margarito cotto was signed, he was negotiating rhe second delahoya fight. what mosley did has absolutely nothing to do with this. because after margarito cotto floyd was not going to be able to avoid the winner. he chose to retire instead.
Mayweather talked about retirement in the press conference after beating Hatton at the end of 2007. Margarito-Cotto happened in July of 2008. Tell me again how these two things are related? Heck, that was the second time Mayweather "retired" and he even stated at the press conference after Hatton that he only came back to fight Oscar because they offered him a shitload of money. He had clearly wanted to step away from the sport for quite a while, and after two massive paydays and KO win over Hatton he did.
We are in dilemna here because if Floyd is ranked number 3 in trhe welterweight division behind Mosley and Pac, then by all logic, he should not be higher in P4P vis-a-vis to Mosley. But I might be wrong because boxing organizations ranking is based on actual achievement in that welterweight division (Mayweather=0) whereas the PFP is just mythical, imaginary ranking.
I would disagree, P4P ratings take into account all of your accomplishments in all the weight classes you've fought in while the WW rankings should only take into account your achievements in WW. IMO Shane has accomplished more in WW and had a more recent dominant win over a top WW in Margo whereas Floyd's last 2 wins at WW were over guys coming up in weight and were not ranked welterweights.
