Ha! Pacman had to come up 6 lbs and Cotto to lose 1 from his previous weight in against Clottey. While Pac had previously weighed as high as 142, prior to Canelo Floyd had previously weighed as high as 151. Pacquiao and Floyd were destined to meet since they were both born into this world. atsch
I agree with some in here. If Canelo dominates 154-160 it shouldn't make Floyd's win look amazing. He didn't fight THAT guy he fought a younger version. So, eh. It was a good win, but what Canelo does shouldn't affect how people look at that win for Floyd.
Canelo was severely weight drained, he could barely stand up at the weigh in and had to be given a chair to sit down right after he came down the scale, He lost the fight trying to make the BS catchweight and had nothing to offer come fight night. As far as i am concerned and many boxing fans also feel the same way this win is tainted, even the winner of the fight would agree with it, he was caught in the past saying that catchweights dont count, if the winner is saying that who are we to disagree. Canelo = Undefeated fighter.
I'm "a biased Floyd hater," in a thread where I went out of my way to praise Floyd for his win over Canelo, just because I'm saying it's a great win, but not "one of the greatest in history"? I said all draining lessens a victory. That includes Pacquiao-Cotto. You are saying that Floyd's draining of Canelo is insignificant, but that Manny's draining of Cotto had him "completely damaged . . . drained". Why the double standard, when Canelo came into the ring against Mayweather on fight night at 165, but at 172 his previous fight against Trout?
But that's exactly whats going to happen . Mayweather fans will be living threw Canelo accomplishments for rest of his career . If Canelo becomes the Middleweight champ of the world , that means Floyd is the Middleweight champ of the world . If Canelo wins another title @ 154 , that means Floyd just won another title @ 154 . Which is why im hoping Lara lays Canelo out .
Green man's right! Floyd said that Cotto was undefeated in his mind because Margarito got popped cheating and then he wasn't at his best against Pac. By his own rationale, the outcome of this fight is nullified. :happy
When did I say it was insignificant, I simply stated it isn't as drastic as you make it sound. It was literally 1 pound. atsch People make claims that Cotto is Pac's best win, so people shouldn't use "drained" as an excuse. Fact! This could indeed be an ATG level win. Potentially. Read. :tired
So he was drained even though he said making weight was no issue at all and he simply was beat by a better fighter?
He said that because he's a man who makes no excuses. But there is no denying it was a catchweight, and there is no denying he came in at 165 fight night and at 172 his previous fight. That's draining, and that lessens a victory. But, is Floyd the better fighter and would Floyd have beat him without the catchweight? In my opinion, yes.
The kid couldnt even make the 154 limit in his next fight FFS. Duckweather fought a guy that on fight night looked like a casting member of The Walking Dead, when you take all things into consideration not only wasnt it a win according to what the winner said it was also a another boxing disgrace brought to you by the biggest fraud in boxing history, the women beating bigot ass coward called Floyd Joy Sinclair.
I don't blame the Catchweight for Canelo losing, I blame Canelo for Canelo losing . He fought with the worst gameplan in the history of boxing . He wanted to show the world that he can beat Floyd at his own game (Outbox the MasterBoxer) He derserved to be embarrassed the way he was .
*******s can't have it both ways. If the catchweight invalidates Floyd win, then that means Pac's wins over Cotto and Maragrito don't count either. Oh and let's not forget how me drained DLH down a whole divsion.
