Just gave their original bout, a 12 round stoppage for Syrowatka over Davies in a bout he was more than a 5 to 1 underdog in, a rewatch to have it fresh in my mind before attempting to call the rematch. Here's what I saw.

Both these men have fairly porous defenses, both took plenty of solid shots in their first bout. Syrowatka appears to have the sterner chin, as Davies did land several flush hard shots on the Polish fighter but was unable to ever rattle him. He did back him off and seemingly hurt him with a combination to the body at the end of the fifth round, but Davies was never again able to find a hurtful body punch, though he continued to hunt for one throughout the fight.

Both fighters ended up cut. Syrowatka with a nasty looking cut on his right eyelid that was kept under control and seemingly did little to hinder his performance. Davies was cut over the left eye in round 6, which was later ruled to of been done by a headclash.

Both fighters were clinching a lot in this bout. I could easily see the rematch not having half the action the original had, with Davies attempting to box more and brawl less. His own corner was heard saying during the middle of the bout "We don't want a fight".

The incessant grappling appeared to be one of the reasons Davies came more and more unglued as the bout progressed, routinely dropping his hands as the bout progressed with the powerfully built Syrowatka routinely grappling the taller Davies head down into a headlock.

Davies was hit with huge punches from the relatively light hitting Syrowatka in the first minute of this bout, a series of them actually. He managed to get his act together and box well for a few rounds, but was unable to do it consistently enough to keep Syrowatka off of him and was clipped more and more regularly as the bout progressed.

Syrowatka seemed to possess an other gear entirely, waiting until the 12th round to spring into action, throwing his hardest shots of the bout and using the left hook that had landed regularly from the first round to finally separate an exhausted Davies from his senses.

Definitely an interesting bout to have a potential bet on. I think much of the rematch is going to come down to how serious Davies has taken learning how to improve his boxing game. He is undoubtedly the much larger fighter and in the moments he pumped his jab out there in the first match, he always landed it on his smaller opponent. In the same vein, his supposedly excessive weight cutting may have simply caught up to him.

Your thoughts? I've seen both these fighters as favorites odds wise, at different places. I'm not even sure of the "real" odds but am intrigued by this one all the same.

Wow, did not mean to write my thesis on this bout.

Anyway, I don't buy the talk that Davies has a china chin. He was clipped by big, flush punches from the literal first minute of the 1st round until the beginning of the 12th. He just could not maintain an effective defense against the overhand, winging power punches of Syrowatka.

I've also been meaning to ask, does anyone know the nature of Syrowatka's sole loss, by stoppage? Was it a cut?

Twenty views and not a single reply?

Surely some posters here will remember their first fight, which was a shoot out that saw both fighters touching the canvas, with both fighters bloody and exhausted with a brutal KO finish that required a hospital visit on top of everything else. Surely it has a good chance of being one of the better fights this weekend.

I also have been trying to find any information about a stream or television slot but can’t find anything. The first one was entertaining so it’s weird it’s not being shown anywhere. Especially since BoxNation are showing the MTK Global card that night

Thanks for the information guys. It's appreciated.

Anyone have any predictions or thoughts on how the bout might play out? I'm interested in seeing how the two look at the weigh in.

To be fair, I’m not sure why promoters are trying to force shows this weekend lol. It’s Parker and Joshua’s weekend, but I understand your pain lol.

If I’m predicting this one, I want to believe Davies will pull it out, probably by decision, outboxing Syrowatka but its a pretty tough fight to predict. I wouldn’t be shocked if Syrowatka caught Davies in one of the later rounds

All of the other weigh ins for tomorrows fights have happened, but not a single word or picture of this weigh in....

A quote from Davies from his Twitter...
“He was a decent kid but I wasn’t at my best in the first fight and I won’t be making the same mistakes again. I know I’m better than him in every department; speed, power, skill, everything.

“And people will see this on 31 March. I aim to take back the belt in style and then move on up through the rankings to bigger things later in the year.”

    Sounds like dangerous thinking.

Saw that they weighed in on Twitter. Davies looks in good shape but didn’t see any pictures of Syrowatka for some reason lol probably because I can only read English and was on Neil Marsh & Kieran Farrell’s Twitters

It looked like Davies was to limited to adapt in the first fight. When the pole figured him out, it was over. I just dont believe that Davies has the tools to do much different in the rematch.

    Syrowatka by KO.
