I know what you're all thinking who wants to see a bunch of tiny little dudes who are half the size of most normal guys fight, well just because they are barely over 5 feet tall and have the bodies of teenage girls it doesn't mean they aren't real men. They can't help it that they didn't grow to full size like most normal guys and that shouldn't be held against them, I know its hard to relate for many of us, because the majority of us are in the Welterweight to Cruiserweight range and can at least dream about being bigger guys that can whip anybody's ass like Heavyweights. But no one wants to be diminutive that's looked at as a negative or feminine in our hyper masculine culture, which is just plain silly. These guys are laying their lives and health on the line just as much as any guy in any other weight division and they deserve just as much attention and just as much credit as anyone else, so for any of the uninitiated I've compiled a thread here of the most significant players in the Light Flyweight, Flyweight and Super Flyweight Divisions as a way for you all to Educate Yourselves as thoroughly as you can on the three divisions which are routinely ignored by mainstream media. Please feel free to add as much as you want to this thread, discuss your favorites, make it the go to place on here for all the Little Guys who don't get the respect they deserve, so.......

Roman Gonzalez is 5'3 27 year old Flyweight with a 42-0 36 KO's record. Born in and fighting out of Barrio La Esperanza, Managua, Nicaragua This tiny little battering ram is the best and most well known fighter in the Flyweight division. Roman gets little credit but should be in most p4p top 10's. He has been a one man wrecking crew walking through basically everyone put in his way for the last 10 years and since HBO seems interested in showcasing Roman Gonzalez and has been featuring Viloria, Estrada and of course Zou Shiming, you're eventually going to get exposed to them so you might as well hit the ground running. And there is no better place to start than with the best Chocolatito. The little guys deserve attention too. And yes I know its a hard sell when most of those guys are so small that they're only half a normal man's size but that shouldn't be held against them, because Roman and many others in and around the division fight with the heart of a Lion.:toney:toney:toney

Naoya Inoue 井上 尚弥, is a 21 year old 5'4 Light Flyweight with a 8-0 7 KO's record. Inoue was born in Zama, Kanagawa, Japan and is fighting out of Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan. He fights out of the famous Ohashi Boxing Gym in Yokohama run by Hideyuki Ohashi. This little guy is incredibly exciting to watch and in my opinion and many others "the one to watch". He's a vicious puncher with brutal power The Monster although he looks like a Ladyboy:yep is mean as hell. Already in his short career he's captured the WBC Light Flyweight title from Adrian Hernandez and completely annihilated Super Flyweight division stalwart and legend Omar Narvaez in 2 best Donaire who Narvaez went the distance with and won his WBO Super Flyweight Title. Inoue is now rightfully a pound for pound player who should be scratching at the door of the top 10, who should be taking on the kingpin of the flys Roman Gonzalez eventually, and of course he's the recent winner of IB's 2014 Fighter of the Year on ESB. The Monster Inoue is a Beast among Flys, Bow Before Him or He will Make You. :toney:toney:toney

Juan Francisco Estrada is a 24 year old 5'4 Flyweight with a 30-2 20 KO's record. Born in Sonora Mexico, he's like a mini Juan Manuel Marquez, although he lost in a close decision to Roman Gonzalez, he's come roaring back with a SD victory over Brian Viloria and absolute destruction of the great albeit wartorn Giovani Segura. Truly a Pound For Pound worthy fighter. :toney:toney:toney

Carlos Roberto Cuadras Quiroa is a 5'4.5 26 year old Super Flyweight with a 31-0-1 25 KO's record. Born in Guamuchil, Sinaloa, Mexico and fighting out of Mexico City. Carlos is a decorated amateur with many Silver and Bronze medals and most notably his Gold that he won in the 2007 Pan American Games held in Rio. He turned pro in 2008 and he's currently fighting for Teiken Promotions based in Japan, sometimes he trains in Japan, sometimes he trains in Mexico. Carlos is just another one of the reasons the Flyweight divisions are becoming some of the hotter divisions in boxing, hopefully when and if his fight with Luis Concepcion takes place we can see how real he is (he should beat him) and if he could eventually pose a threat to Estrada or Chocolatitoif they move up, maybe even The Monster Inoue himself or maybe Cuadras could move up to Bantamweight and challenge a Yamanaka or Kameda there. For a point of reference he stopped Victor Zaleta two rounds quicker than Leo Santa Cruz, even though he threw far less punches. So Check Out The Fly Prince of Guamuchil.:toney:toney:toney

Amnat Ruenroeng is a 5'4.5 35 year old Flyweight with a 14-0 5 KO's record. Born in Chonburi Province Thailand along the Gulf of Thailand in the city of Sri Racha birthplace of the now famous sauce. He got his start in boxing while serving a 15 year prison sentence for robbery when he got out he won the Thai National Title a LFW. He's since gone on to win Gold Medals in the 24th and 25th Southeast Asian Games. Since turning pro at the advanced age of 33 he's recently got wins over good Flyweight McWilliams Arroyo and repeating a feat from his amateur days in defeating the highly touted Kazuto Ioka, robbing him of his 0.Since then he stole Zou Shiming 0 and brutally molested John Riel Casimero. Kazuto Ioka is a 25 year old 5'5 Flyweight with a 16-1 9 KO's record. Born and fighting out of Sakai. Osaka Prefecture, Japan. He is a former WBA Light Flyweight titlist who's only loss is a SD loss to Amnat Ruenroeng one of the better fighters in the division, which is nothing to be ashamed of. He's very aggressive has good speed a great body puncher, but also has counter punching skills as well. He's good at adapting to his opponent. He was probably a little better as a Minimumweight because he was more suited to that division size wise. But he's pretty good at Flyweight too. Pedro Guevara is a 5'4 26 year old Light Flyweight with a 25-1-1 17 KO's record. Born in and fighting out of Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico. This tiny little handsome Mexican Flyweight has been on one hell of a roll in the last year or so, aside from a draw with Mario Rodrigues and a SD loss to the underrated Filipino Johnriel Casimero he had a fairly spotless record. But after contemplating retirement after a few decent wins he's kicked it into overdrive by scoring a KO of the usually durable Akira Yaegashi in the 7th round, 2 whole rounds quicker than Chocolatito and he followed that up a little later with a first round body shot KO of the undefeated knockout artist prospect Richard Claveras. He doesn't have the typical Mexican temperament when it comes to boxing, he has decent ring generalship and effectively uses his jab and boxes his opponents at a distance, not like many come forward Mexican brawlers in the division. If he keeps winning he's going to put himself in contention for a shot at one of the top dogs sooner or later. So Take a Look a Pedrin In Accion.:toney:toney:toney:toney

Donnie Liboon Nietes is a 5'3 33 year old Light Flyweight with a 33-1-4 21 KO's record. Born in Murcia, Negros Occidental, Philippines fighting out of Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Philippines. Donnie who got his nickname Ahas which means Snake in the Filipino language of Tagalog, because he was the only guy who would clean out the Python tank at the gym he worked at which was the ALA Gym. He was encouraged by the guys at the gym to take up boxing and dump his job as the utility man. Thankfully he did because so far for a late starter at the age of 20 he's had a pretty good run. He's the current WBO Light Flyweight Champion which he won off of Ramon Hirales. He's also the former WBO Minimumweight Champion as well. Nietes is a very good fighter who comes at his opponents like a little compact tank, he walks then down with his high guard up landing huge left and right hooks along the way, and he's adept at countering and fighting off the backfoot as well. He's a vicious little Pinoy Battering Ram. So Check Out The Snake Of Negros Occidental in Action. Get To Know Another Flyweight.:toney:toney:toney:toney

    McWilliams Arroyo Acevedo is a 5'4 29 year old Flyweight with a 15-2 13 KO's record.
    McJoe Arroyo Acevedo is a 5'4 29 year old Super Flyweight with a 16-0 8 KO's record.

The Twin Brothers were Born in Ceiba, Puerto Rico and are currently fighting out of Fajardo, Puerto Rico. I'm not sure about the history of twins in Boxing but I do think its slightly odd the there is 2 sets of twins currently active The Arroyos of PR and of course The Charlo Twins of the USA but I have to say the Arroyo Brothers are the far more entertaing of the 2. McWilliams is obviously the harder hitter of the two and he's also the more famous due to his recent loss to Ruenroeng of Thailand in a close SD, his other loss came in a 4 rounder to Okada because he was dropped by a shot his ear messing up his equilibrium for a few seconds. He's a two time Gold Medalist in various Latin American Games. McJoe is less of a hard hitter however he no losses on his record and is currently ranked higher than his twin due to his recent stoppage win over the fairly durable Hernan Marquez. He's the a two time winner of Bronze Medals. So Check out The Twin Terror Fighting Flyweights Of Fajardo In Action. Juan Carlos Reveco is a 31 year old 5'2 Flyweight with a 35-1 19 KO's record. Born in Malargüe, Mendoza, Argentina and fighting out of Las Heras, Mendoza, Argentina. Reveco is your typical Argentine fighter only an incredibly scaled down version standing at a mere 5 foot 2 yet still as mean as hell and wants to get most of his opponents into a phone booth so he can beat them silly with sharp body punches. But he's also fairly adept at fighting off the backfoot when he needs to be. An all around very decent fighter He's currently the WBA World Flyweight Champion. Coton isn't a great nickname. Omar Narvaez is the 39 year old 5'3 Flyweight-Super Flyweight with a 46-1-2 23 KO's record. Unfortunately most of us know him from his survival quest match against Nonito on HBO, but he is legendary in his division and had no business moving up that high in weight, only to be remembered as another Donaire victim. But he is far more than that, this grizzled veteran has one of the more impressive records of any currently active fighter and deserves more respect for his accomplishments that are basically unknown to most US fans. So here is a look at another great Argentine that never quite gets the attention he should.

Sho Ishida is a 5'8 23 year old Super Flyweight with a 19-0 10 KO's record. Born in Sakai, Osaka and now fighting out of Osaka, Japan. Ishida hasn't had as much amateur experience as many of his fellow countrymen, instead he got his start as a kickboxer in his formative years and then he turned pro at the young age of 18. He's fighting out of the famed Ioka Boxing Gym ran by Kazuto Ioka's uncle Hiroka Ioka. He's young so it may be too soon to tell if he's going to be a real force, but from what I see he has fast hands, his power seems to be getting better with each passing fight since 8 of his 10 KO's have come in his last 11 matches. And who knows how high in weight he can go considering his incredibly tall stature, 5'8 is quite large for a Flyweight he could make it up to Featherweight. John Riel Reponte Casimero is a 5'4 25 year old Flyweight with a 21-2 13 KO's 1 KO loss record. Born in Ormoc City, Leyte, Philippines and fighting out of Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines. This tiny little Pinoy Warrior may not have the slickest or fanciest skillset in the world, in fact he's quite sloppy, he pretty much swings for the fences with almost every shot, but he also happens to be a very exciting for that very reason. Yes he has 2 losses but I wouldn't consider them to be that embarrassing, one is a SD loss to Ramon Hirales who was almost unbeaten at the time himself, since then he's gone on to be KO'd by Chocolatito. And the other being a 5th round TKO to South African Moruti Mthalane who was far more experienced and had far more KO's than Casimero at the time. Pacquiao shows that Filipinos shouldn't be written off after a KO they can come back and be a ATG, not that John Riel will come anywhere close, but he shouldn't be overlooked either. After he KO loss he came back with a vengeance and stopped Argentine Luis Lazarte in the 10th round which let to the biggest Boxing riot in Argentine history with Casimero ending being hit by folding thrown from the crowd. He was recently molested by Amnat Ruenroeng in a MMA match that was supposed to be a boxing match. So do yourself a favor and Check Out 4 Aces Casimero.:toney:toney:toney:toney

Arthur Cordero Villanueva is 5'5 26 year old Super Flyweight with a 27-0 14 KO's record. Born in Bago City, Negros Occidental, Philippines and fighting out of Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Philippines. Arthur grew up in the slums of Bago City in the Barangay of Ma-ao Barrio he was the second youngest of 12 children his dad died when he was 15 and his mom had to raise them all by herself, he excelled at math in school and through out his school years he picked up 4 medals in chess, which means he's a pretty damn intelligent kid. He started boxing at 15 and has a record of 42-7 as an amateur. In the ring his chess skills seem to be paying off he has a good jab, good defense and is good at setting the pace and controlling the distance, he has decent but not overwhelming power and he can fight a very patient fight or if it calls for it he can go to war, because he's good at that too. It's too soon to tell if he'll be a threat to the likes of Cuadras and Inoue but he can definitely be a handful for many others in the division. Plus he's a cute kid who'll be easy to market So Check Out King Arthur at Work.:toney:toney:toney:toney
