Segura will win this one. No disrespect but every fighter must come to the states to prove themselves, its part of boxing history whether anyone agrees to it or not. The best around the world meet in the states and Wonjongkam is no exception.

    I'm not sure.

A couple of years ago, I'd have picked Wonjongkam without much hesitation but he's slowing down a little and Segura is absolutely relentless.

Although Segura is huge, the size difference won't be as drastic as it was against Calderon, so he shouldn't be able to run PW out of the ring or anything. Non-stop pressure with punching power and a size advantage sounds like a good way to beat a technically superior, older champion though.

I'd love to see the fight happen and, right now, I'm leaning towards Wonjongkam.

Interestingly his promoter/manager Virat Vachchiraratanawongse has been accused of overprotecting Wonjongkam, luring unsuspecting challengers to Thailand, where they wilt in the Bangkok heat. Some feel that Wonjongkam would have already fought in the U.S. if not for the headstrong Vachchiraratanawongse. In Thai culture, however, a fighter is essentially working at the whim of his promoter. Considering that Wonjongkam has picked up some good paydays for a flyweight, the arrangement seems to be working. From an American perspective, the alliance may appear stifling, but in Thailand itÂ’s de rigueur.

Your command of the English language has improved dramatically Boxing Ears, since you created the Zab Judah thread about low blows following the Agbeko-Mares controversy!:good
