If Larry Merchant said "I root for all white fighters".. He would be fired! :hi:

To be fair, they probably do need to let Larry go now. Get someone younger who young fans could relate to more easily.

Can you not see how refreshing it would be to have opposing view points at the announcer's table. Right now we have to hear Lampley's cheerleading. Manny doesn't comment on it. Ofcourse Max isn't going to rock the boat and Larry just changes the subject. I guarantee Floyd would not allow Lampley to stop calling a fight in the second round and spend the rest of the fight pondering Pac's place in the all time great lineup

Floyd can't do it alone. It should be the threesome of him Roger and SeƱior.
We'd be hearing the word MAFAKA at least 500 the whole night. Then if Floyd won't agree with his dad they'd be yelling and cursing it'd be like the ultimate reality show on earth. :deal

I would like to see Floyd get a chance at commentating. I think it'd be really interesting.

But ONLY with moderators. Giving Floyd a platform with noone to keep his feet on the ground would be a mistake.

Yea he would  Its just not boxing though. The announcers were hating big time on the Heat.

For one, he called Dirrel and Ward during the super six tournament to wish them luck against the white fighters. What does that tell you genius. He's racist as ****.

He'd do very poorly. He is not a good speaker.

Lampley : "Floyd, watching Gamboa fight in the ring, does he have the same explosiveness, the same offensive stylings as, say, a young Roy Jones?"

Mayweather : "I'm just truly blessed with god-given talent. We have an UNBELIEVABLE team. Al Haymon and Leonard Ellerbe. Hard work and Dedication. If you're the best take the test"

    Lampley : "Alriiiiiiiiiiighhhht thenn....."

lil floyd would need an analyst on the side, to interpret at least what he would be saying.

Give Floyd a mic and it's inevitable what comes out of his mouth. Not a good choice for color commentary.
