    Pros:
Floyd is well known, and has some credibility because of name recognition.
Floyd wouldn't be shy about putting in an opinion
    Floyd has excellent boxing skills

    Cons:
Floyd well known but is widely hated.
Floyd is a very poor speaker
Floyd is racist, and would not give accurate commentary because of this
Floyd is an egomaniac, and would talk about himself constantly
Floyd is emotionally infantile, and could not maintain a professional attitude
Floyd would not work well in part of a commentary team put together by a network. He can barely stand to work with his own team when training.
Floyd's boxing ability does not mean he would be able to provide any insights into a match as it progressed. What his mind and reflexes and training can adapt to in the ring may not be something he can express verbally about a fight he is watching.

Overall? A really stupid idea. Some boxers, when they retire, are naturals at other jobs int eh boxing world. Some are great commentators, some are great promoters. Others become great trainers. Of all three, Floyd only has a chance to become a great trainer, because he would suck hard at commentating or promoting.

Floyd is not intelligent or articulate enough to be a color commentator. He's an egomaniac, an attention-***** and a confused manchild. There is more chance of Floyd Sr winning Miss Teen America than there is of Jr leaving all his bias and baggage at the door to do a good media job like Antonio Tarver does.

My thoughts? Possibly the worst idea I have ever heard in my life. I could not even imagine FMJ complimenting another fighter. I honestly think he'd make the whole thing about him. He'd say something like "he is fast...not as fast as me, though!" No biggie, though...I think someone like, say, Ali or Hamed would be the same way...

The Mayweathers, as a whole, sound too ghetto to ignorant to be taken seriously.

Its a sideshow whenever they are on the mic.

Floyd is like the George Bush of boxing. Watching him try to make a point is painful enough on 24/7.

He doesn't come across as the most articulate person, very knowledgeable in interviews but as a commentator it would not work, Tyson might be good though

The guy speaks broken ebglish. He sttuters a lot. He can't find the right words he want to say, so he stutters some more. He repeats the same word over and over "we gon fight poochio, we gon fight the poochiao". He corrects himself a lot, sometimes he's wrong on his correction. Pac speaks better english then floyd lol, and pacs is real bad.

x2 good post, his technical break down would be A Plus, he couldn't carry the commentary, he'd need a media guy, but as technical commentator you probably won't get much better

    Very bad idea.

If someone merely mentions Pac (which seems pretty much unavoidable considering that fom Flyweight to heavyweights, everybody wants to mention his name) in one of those fights, Gayweathet would pick up his shoulder bag, sling it on his shoulder, fix up his make-up and just walk out.

Or he will let his roided security guard finish the business.

Plus of course he stutters a lot, which the *****s find "cute" and so they tend to stutter too. You know. Whatever Gayweather is doing, wearing, saying, they have to do it to. Just like watching Bieber and Lady Gaga!
