Why is Leonard always mentioned with a size advantage? He never struck me as a large WW. In fact, he weighed in at 145 for the Duran fight. IIRC he mentioned that he usually didn't rehydrate much post weigh in

Many things can happen over the span of 2 years

You took that spasticated nonsense as a serious statement and that's your response? You must have a warm heart.

Floyd has the ability, that doesn't mean he will.

Oh, how I love this line of thinking. A relatively green Leonard coasts the first few rounds (which they mistake as him being troubled by Mayweather Sr.) as per usual before turning it up a notch and proceeding to give Sr. one of the most brutal poundings you're likely to see. And they somehow manage to turn that into "Mayweather Jr. would beat Leonard".

Love it, the General Forum never ceases to amaze.

Leonard W12 in an 8-4 kind of fight. Competetive, but Leonard is too big and FMJ doesn't have the firepower.

    Definitely not a stompdown.

Floyd SR took a brtual beatdown from Leonard. Fight wasn't even competitive after maybe the first 2 rounds. Sr only lasted as long as he did because he showed a pretty amazing chin. If Floyd JR was in there, any one of those bombs could have sent to the canvas.

Leonard is wrong for Floyd in every way - he's better in just about every category, he's more talented - faster, stronger, bigger.

It would take Leonard 2-3 rounds to adjust and figure out that Floyd can't bother him with anything. After that it's a wrap.

WTF up with these ***** threads.....

Ok, i'll agree that Junior is better than Senior, definitely better
    but...

SRL was a 5'10" monster at Welterweight. Physically, he was the total package for that weightclass. Skill-wise, he was the total package. He was the pre-eminent boxer/puncher of his generation, and there was NOTHING he couldn't do. If he needed to box, he could do it. If he needed to switch gears and pressure, he could it. And if he wanted to close out the show, he could do it...

With the strength of specific styles, there are also inherent weaknesses. Mayweather's do have weaknesses, but his athletic ability is able to fill up those gaps. SRL had much greater diversity in style as a boxer/puncher, and he also had confidence in his chin. He wasn't afraid to open up and attack because he COULD trust his chin....
