While Floyds Skillset is of a comparable level to SRL, it is unfair to him to be compared to probably the 2nd best WW ever.

Mayweather is in contention for the claim to be the best between 130-140 aka somewhere around lightweight. That means the Whitaker/Duran/Chavez/Pryor type matchups are most applicable.

Be reasonable, it would be like a FMJ vs JMM type deal where size/reach/speed are all in SRL favor. Though stylistically RJJ vs. Toney is what the action might be like.

Fantastic point. This is a big reason why Leonard wins IMO. But *****s don't believe size/reach/speed etc etc matters. At least not vs Marquez. I bet it matters vs Leonard though ha.

Hearns is the biggest threat to Floyd due to his reach, size, power.
SRL is known for fighting the FAB 4, he is flashy, and got charisma. His wins over hearns was questionable and so was Hagler, and obviously he lost to duran and beat duran on the slide. Nonetheless, he is my favorite of the FAB 4.

Floyd got more skills than SRL who is mostly flash. I think Floyd Jr would've beaten SRL under and 147 and 50/50 147 and above.

    Ray wasn't 'mostly flash" though.

Well, Leonard's almost 60 years old so I'd probably have to agree with you.

Leonard was a runner. He loved having a huge ring to run around in. Hagler fight is an example. He just loved dancing/running around and pushing out his jabs.

Him and Floyd are very similar in their style to promote a fight. However Leonard had much more class about him and wasn't scared of losing. Which makes him a better fighter in my eyes as he learned from his mistakes.

I think leonard is too strong and tough for Floyd but Floyd would hold his own. I don't think he would be destroyed quickly by Leonard as guys who never had the defense like he has could last and hang with Leonard.

To say he wouldn't have a chance is ignorant.

  13. Modern fighters get underrated against fighters through history with boxing scribes and Mayweather would beat many top welters through history but SRL isn't one he'd beat when they are both at their best.

I think SRL and SPW are completely wrong for Mayweather. They would dominate him in a tough fight.

fmj would not even think of fighting srl...let alone win....

but assuming miraculously he fights srl...fmj gets brutalized and embarassed...
