These guys are most effective when going forward, but they can't throw hard-hitting combinations while backing up. Mayweather's inside game is superior to pretty much anyone around his weight range and his defense allows him to stay at close range without taking punishment, while pot-shooting his way to a UD.

I guess it also makes his fights more entertaining to most viewers.

I have to disagree Maidana is a hard puncher , I don't know if he hits as hard as Canelo tho.

 

no he is staying inside the wide punches. Hearns did that with Roldan. He was hit when he was on the outside, so he fought him inside and ducked under the punches and worked the body. At first Floyd will do what Hearns did and fight more outside, but when Maidana slows down he will go inside more.
