Well, we have weight divisions for a reason. People over the years must think at some point size can be such an advantage that it just is not that fair to allow people to fight other smaller guys 20, 30 or 40 lbs bigger than the other opponent. With that said, if Floyd fought the MW lineal champ in Sergio, not only would it be for the MW title, but the opponent would out weigh Floyd by a significant amount.

How much is "significant" enough? Just keep in mind the acknowledged GOAT, SRR, has NEVER fought an opponent more than 16.5 lbs bigger than him. Seems that if that's big enough for the champ (he never sought a rematch, afaik) then it must be a pretty significant variable to over come.

 

I wonder why such a clamor for him to fight guys out of his weight then? What does that do for a fighter like Canelo or Sergio who might be fighting to establish an ATG legacy, since fighting such a small man can only be such a negative?!:?
