OK reverse the scenario. Say Floyd had sucker punched Ortiz do you honestly think Cortez would have counted him out & declared Ortiz a KO winner?????? Would you have been OK with that????? Bull****. Ortiz was sick of the running, holding, forearm shivers etc & Cortez doing nothing about it. No wonder Floyd wont fight outside Vegas its almost impossible for him to lose there
Yea he was frustrated, floyd had grabbed on to his neck with both gloves 2 seconds before. Floyd was using his elbows also as usual, which would be frustrating as hell getting those smashed into your face or pushing off with his forearm into Vic's face. So Vic headbutts him, and was deducted a point. Bad on Vic, but would Floyd did was one of the most lethal, dirty sucker punches in boxing history. I'm telling you, if Vic had of been seriously injured or killed, Floyd would have facing years in prison. Legal action would have been taken because regardless if it was technically legal, it was still a cowardly action of a fighter taking advantage of an unarmed opponent. I've seen hockey players do jail time for manslaughter simply for slashing another player during a game.
yep, *****'s don't want to look at it that way. Cortez would have DQ'd ortiz for sure. Floyd's gangstars would have started a massive riot and someone would have probably been shot.
Why would he fight a guy again he was schooling, got frustrated and then tried to break his teeth with a flying headbutt? Otrees is a worse Pick than Khan for fu(k sack
No my friend what that sucker punch really proved is that Floyd Mayweather jr is was & always will be just a cowardly street punk who happened to be blessed with incredible God Given boxing talents. Unfortunately he was cursed with the courage & cojones of a gnat like all street punks are He'd rather beat on a woman than fight a legitimate fight. Make him fight in Texas where his opponents would have a level playing field & see the difference But Floyd wont fight outside Vegas he'd retire in tears again first ROFLMAO:rofl
Ortiz was stunned by the punch, looked to the ref because he didn't believe the fight had been started, nor heard anyone say time in -- seeing this Floyd decided to unload the hardest punch he's thrown in probably his whole career! sure it was legal and all, but what I can get past is just how dishonorable it was of Floyd and down right dirty. This was in floyds own backyard, and the amount of boos generated towards Floyd was thundering. The P4P#1 fighter, champion, ATG, decided he wanted to hit a defenseless man, and not only just 1 time, he wanted to hit him again and end the fight, robbing all of the fans the fight they were supposed to see, a boxing match with a justified ending. Floyd would have been 100x better off KO'ing Victor after, and alot of fans would have loved him for it, had it been done in a boxing manner, not a thug manner mentality.
Of course it's god given, look at his genetics and family of boxers LOL Sure he trains hard but put him in another body and he would be having a hard time even going pro.
I do not get the fans of Ortrees . . . I was happy for the guy and glad he got a second chance. However, he has only proved to be a mentally weak loser time and time again. He cracked because he could land a clean shot on Money so he tried to take it to the street, it got to rough for him when he got a two piece combo and a side of Nyquil so now his couple of fans on here cry like a couple of bitches. Victor is nothing but a punk and deserves jack ****. He has to go to the back of the line and pray that Money does not to old before he gets to the front again
Look from a marketing stand point the rematch between FMJ and VO entirely makes sense. Victor just needs a one nice win in december where he wins by KO/TKO against a decent opponent (Or at least Knocks his opponent down for the sake of the highlight reel) Floyd should be able to have a optional non mandatory defense in May. This Fight makes Dollar's and Sense. I for one don't mind seeing it again even if the outcome is a forgone conclusion.
I think this would alienate fans more than a Khan fight. Everybody saw Ortrees was getting schooled and lost his fu(king mind . . . nobody wants to see that sh!t again
BS, everyone was robbed of a very entertaining rough fight that had Floyd looking nervous and ortiz walking through Floyd's shots like they were mosquitoes. Minus the *****'s, fans around the world would love to see a second fight, especially considering how the first one ended unjustly. I wouldn't count ortiz out for a second, he had the right style you need against Floyd, he was getting closer and closer to really landing on floyd and hurting him. Ortiz isn't canelo, Ortiz did a much better job than canelo did -- accepting the fire from Floyd, walking right into it in order to get at Floyd. I still believe Floyd threw those sucker punches to get out of what was getting to be a scary fight for him.
