Knew it wouldn't be long before the most infamous fantasy H2H match-up in GF history was put back into play. The aren't many advantages that Floyd would enjoy in this match-up (besides size and length), he may hold a slight edge in speed and power but not at the level that it would make much of a difference at all. What Pea brings to the table is the ability to disrupt Floyd's rhythm which is in essence the key to his game. It wouldn't be out of the question for Pernell to taste the canvas though, due to his habit of getting sloppy with his footwork, coupled with Floyd's timing and awkward angles of some of his punches which could possibly have some influence on the cards. Even though Floyd has the ability to adjust it all depends on when that transition would take place and frankly I'm not too sure it would do any good. Floyd's only hope due to his inabiity to let his hands go and defensive style would be to get close to Pea, but even at that range he would be ineffective due to Pea's own prowess inside. The logical pick would be Pea by decision in a chess match.
How about you post some real analysis instead of the usual bull**** you post you ****ing troll. This thread is about Pea-PBF you ****ing moron. A guy like Pea would always give PBF hell he had a great jab one of the best ever. I see him dictating the fight with it especially at 135. I do think PBF is a better counter-puncher has faster hand speed with more power but Pea's defense was sicker IMO. I would favor Pea at 135 and would favor him to beat anyone in history there and pick PBF at 147. Whatever the outcome this would be a chess match at the absolute highest level and a dream match up for me.
At 147 I think Pernell moves his feet a little better, PBF moves his hands a little better. I would probably pick PBF on points, but I wouldn't put any money on it.
Close majority decision to sweet pea....if floyd shows me something nice with manny i could change my mind on this...but right now i gotta go with pernell
Pea by a clear UD at 135 (the only weight this makes sense) Pea is first and foremost - lefty. PBF does not adapt as well to left as he does with righty. Pea is also a busier fighter. PBF is busy at 135 compared to PBF 147 but not the same work rate as Pea. Pea's reaction speed and technical defensive skills would negate's PBF's 1/2 pot shot technique. Pea was also very difficult to be physically man handled like PBF did to Mosley. Pea all the way. Only at 147 I would make it close to SD. Even then it would be SD to Pea. One of the rare H2H matches that PBF does not win at all.
