DALE ROBERTO OF BOXING insider SAYS THAT BOTH ARE VERY FAST BUT IN DIFFERENT WAYS AND USES THE FOLLOWING analogy to describe what he means this is the best analogy I heard on the subject mpp is a ak47 with a drum mag fast rate of sustainable fire fmm is a semi auto Barrett sniper rifle extremely fast single rd with extreme accuracy This article is going to be further broken down in the aug issue of boxing insider with dale and a few other boxing analysis (yet to be named) (perhaps ol maxy boy) but n e ways I would like to IN A RESPECTFUL WAY do are own break down on this analogy:bbb
Mayweather got faster overall speed as in upper body movement and timing. Pac got faster hand speed and combos. Floyd got the single shot though.
Sounds pretty accurate. Floyd doesn't even focus on overwhelming his opponents with speed or fast combinations. He says so many fighters worry about being faster than each other while he focuses on timing and inches/distance (which leads to accuracy and effectiveness without having to expend a lot and room to focus on defense).
I feel that this analogy is so good that I would love to have a REAL IN DEPTH break down I think it will be a real interesting read with all the different perspectives and opinions on what exactly DR meant by the analogy as long as it is kept as INTELLIGENT & RESPECTFUL as possible this could be a fun thread PLUS WHEN THE AUG ISSUE OF BOXING INSIDER COMES OUT WE CAN COM PAIR R ANALYSIS TO THE EXPERTS
