Decarie is pushing his strong jab through and scoring cleanly with it as Alvarez is a little busier and looser with his. Alvarez is now shrimping himself up out of the way of jabs and right crosses from Decarie, and absorbing some of them on his hunched shoulders. Decarie has a cut over his right eye. Decarie throws a hard three punch combo, grunting. Alvarez staggers from a right hand. Another lands flush and Alvarez ducks down, perhaps on the verge of going down and clinches. Hard body hook by Decarie. Alvarez clinches again. Both are now cut (Alvarez on the left side of his face). Alvarez DOWN again from a right hand (hand touches the canvas) at the end of the round, and shoots right back up - saved by the bell.

Round 9

Decarie is letting Alvarez take the lead again, and Alvarez just slaps the body with low paddles. Alvarez shies away from a lead right and barely blocks it before it reaches his face. More slaps to the body by Alvarez, and he starts flicking his jab in Decarie's face. Decarie just keeps backing away. Hard right hook from Alvarez just as Decarie broke his guard to start throwing a punch. Decarie lands a good left hook on the inside and Alvarez presses up against him and then shoves him off. Alvarez is bending his waist and slipping punches, but looking a bit stiff and awkward doing so (as though his ribs hurt). Alvarez keeps throwing punches and honestly Decarie didn't do enough this round to win it.

Round 10

Alvarez keeps coming forward, jabbing and throwing left hands straight down the middle and looking reinvigorated. Decarie is doing naught but block and sweep with a few left hooks. Alvarez jabs his way in and walks facefirst into a right hand. Decarie has a 1-2 sail just past Alvarez's face. Decarie is ripped with a right hook during a sloppy exchange on the inside. Alvarez keeps flicking his jab out and Decarie puts out his left hand to swat it away before driving a right hand into Alvarez's belly. Hard 1-2 to the throat by Decarie. Another big hook misses by Decarie. Alvarez gushing blood, still jabbing and coming forward. Crowd roars. Decarie flurries hard to the bell.
