FNF: Delvin Rodriguez vs. Ashley Theophane & Donovan George vs. Francisco Sierra RBR

Round 2

Rodriguez is using his hook a bit more, interspersing it among his busy jab and backing Theophane up. Theophane thumps Rodriguez on the chin with a clubbing sideways hook launched overhead and somewhat telegraphed but unseen by Rodriguez due to the angle. Rodriguez continues to work Theophane from the outside and surrenders his height a bit by not stepping back when Theophane wings curvy shots at him.

Round 3

Theophane is starting to get lined up regularly with the jab and right hand of Rodriguez. Theophane starts to work his hands after a Rodriguez jab but Rodriguez brings his right hand across to push Theophane's arms down and smother him. Rodriguez bends forward and misses a lead right but then brings the left around to the body of Theophane. Rodriguez feints and jabs Theophane around but makes the mistake of bending forward again going to the body and is hit clean in the face.

 

Round 4

Rodriguez lands with the jab and right hand as Theophane rushes in and out. Theophane is still trying to land overhand shots but Rodriguez is ducking or otherwise evading them. Theophane does manage to dig in to the body a bit but pays for it on the way in.

 

Round 5

Rodriguez pierces the guard of Theophane with his jab. Theophane turns Rodriguez's head sharply with a wild hook, and then catches him moments later with a lobbed right hand. Rodriguez shakes off both blows and continues to do the cleaner work. Rodriguez jabs forward and then catches Theophane backing up with a hook of his own. Rodriguez tries to hammer Theophane with a right hand but winds up leaning on top of him against the ropes, when they separate he tries an uppercut but finds Theophane to be slippery.

 

Round 6

Rodriguez is missing a bit more this round, and Theophane is able to make it into more of a sloppy brawl. Rodriguez does bring a chopping right hand down on Theophane's brow and begin to assert himself. Theophane is saving much of his energy for banging the body in the clinch, and is attempting a shoulder roll as Rodriguez rips the 1-2 in his direction.

 

Round 7

Rodriguez hooking off the jab and leaning back away from the counter jab of Theophane. Rodriguez continues to get hit primarily when he bends into his shots and exposes his body. Theophane sends a can-opener right hand from behind his back and in a diagonal line toward the chin of Rodriguez but falling short and pulling himself a bit off balance. Big 1-2 lands for Rodriguez that has Theophane hopping a bit on his toes. Theophane takes another right hand before regrouping and pulling back, then coming forward with a sweeping hook that misses.

I haven't found a round to give AT.

 

Theophane's landed some power punches, they're just few and far between. When they do land though, it seems to be that Delvin doesn't see them coming at all and they land flush.

 

Round 8

Rodriguez circles close inside with jabs and hooks, but Theophane times him with one hard hook to the cheek. Rodriguez is a bit rattled and tries to regain control with his 1-2 but Theophane taps him on the nose with a straight-ish right hand. Theophane ducks his head down as he apparently tries to lean into a clinch but Rodriguez leans back and pounds the side of his head with a right hand. They clinch up and the top of Theophane's head drives into Rodriguez's eye socket, and both work their hands to each other's sides. Rodriguez is now falling in and clinching with every punch thrown.

This is the first Theophane round for me (Atlas gave him the 7th).
