Antonio Avila vs. Russel Fiore, 135lbs (4 rounds)

Round 1

Fiore backs Avila up with his 1-2. Avila backs up and counters, getting outlanded until he catches Fiore with a big flush right hand and lays him out momentarily. Fiore bounces up and goes back on the offensive, while Avila continues to counter and move.

10-8 Avila

 

Round 2

Fiore continues to press forward in a straight line throwing right leads and one-twos, but Avila slaps him with rights off the back foot and wide hooks while circling left. A lot of slipping and blocking from Avila, he's only really getting hit clean with jabs. Avila is not landing all of his power shots, and in fact only a small minority of them but it's more than the flat-footed Fiore.

This is a pretty enjoyable fight. Wish it was longer. I personally gave the second to Fiore, I thought he gave some solid pressure in that round.

 

To be honest, I don't really care about the main event. Can we all vote it off the broadcast in an impromptu text message poll and extend this one in real time?
