    Round 10

They come forward and hook together. Close together, they slap and land arm on body (fist on nothing). Manfredo gets his right hand hanging off to the side (Edouard's left) and brings it up to tap Edoaurd's ribs with a couple of uppercuts. Manfredo circles on the outside and looks for openings as Edouard stays in a defensive posture. Manfredo comes forward with jabs and lead uppercuts as Edouard drapes his arms over him to tie up. Manfredo leads with a left hook to the body. Edouard grabs his chin between the thumbs of his gloves to pull him inward by the head. Manfredo lands a jab and dances on the outside, just coasting and not going for the KO even though he could. Edouard follows and rips Manfredo with a right hand but it's too little too late.

Daniel has a great fighter's spirit, but his body has gotten beaten up pretty badly in this fight. Jr continues to do his job, in thoroughly outworking Daniel in all areas. Good body work from Jr. Daniel misses a big looping shot. Well Daniel makes it to the final bell as I expected

    I got 100-89 Jr.

But with the FNF judges as of late, who knows what score cards show up :yep

Yea if Jr, just pressed a little bit more, the tko would've almost certainly been rendered.

Good for Micky defending the decision to not include the FOTY era of his career (Augustus, Gatti trilogy). I'm sick of idiots saying they should have been in the movie and not getting that it would have had nothing to do with the part of his life that the movie was about.

Manfredo is very humble in his interview; says he wants to make one last run at 160.

I understand the needing money, but run to where? He's ranked 9 but the IBF, but come on, he'll get pounded by anyone in the top 10. I suppose he can take a payday off of name only, admitting as much basically.

Honestly his one chance at a title is if he gets himself ranked by the WBA (beating Ouma and/or the Lee-Duddy winner) and if Hearns somehow gets lucky and lands a perfect KO punch on Sturm (highly unlikely).

    Manfredo could take Hearns.

Other than that...Martinez (or Dzinziruk)? Pirog? Sylvester, even? Forget it. Hell, forget the champions...he can't beat most of the top contenders, as you say. It would take the stars aligning and a perfect sequence of events for him to snatch a belt in even this tepid MW climate (tepid at the top...stacked at the next level).

A payday makes it worth it.. but Peter was never better than a gatekeeper. If he could have ever stayed and made 154 honestly he might have been able to steal a belt.. as the division was so weak for quite some time.. he was never a good enough boxer to beat the best at 160, and he didn't have enough pop to turn a fight against a top guy.

Still, he almost always came to fight.

Yeah, I'd pick him over some of the weak titlists there lately and even now (K9, most notably).

As it is - he's competing as a "middleweight" but has been coming in a bit over 160 in both of his last two fights. No chance of making LMW.
