Normally I'd agree with most that Canelo would get pulverized if he went near Bivol again, but...I started to think maybe he could actually have a chance at winning if he changed his approach. How? Well I think the key to all of this is the thing he barely did...the jab IMO.

Thats the main thing he lacked and why he did so poorly. Bivol pretty much ran him over and controlled every single second of the bout because he established his jab AND did so really early on. Watching the overhead aerial view of the fight you can really see how he kept stuffing Canelo's face with it. Canelo trying to spam power shots didn't hurt Bivol and it only tired him out faster. So what if Canelo were to establish his jab early this time around?

That'd allow him to conserve stamina much better, have a way of pressuring Bivol, can atleast control the fight to some degree and could use it to setup those power shots he seems to love spamming at everyone.
We know all of that is true because when Canelo actually did use his jab, he was able to back up Bivol and then following up with an uppercut that often got through Bivol's guard. It just didn't hurt him.

Since Bivol would likely establish the jab early just like the first fight, I could see this turning into a jab fest with both fighters trying to prod their opponents defense to land power shots. It'd be like a Canelo vs GGG 2 type of fight.

I'd still favor Bivol to win the fight either way here, but Canelo certainly could do better.

Canelo should have tried to box Bivol instead of trying to knock him out all night. Bivol was ready for that and carried out his fight plan perfectly.

The fight plan Canelo used vs Bivol he should have used vs Mayweather and vice verse.

I don't see ANY route to victory against Bivol for Canelo, especially seeing how Canelo looked against an old and gunshy GGG.

Canelo looked just as old as GGG in the last 4 rounds, his decline has started - he is maybe paying for the level of activity and his power-punch style

Bivol is better that Canelo in nearly every department except counter punching, he is ice-cold with proven ability to execute a gameplan with automaton like precision, and i would see Canelo gasping like a landed fish by round 6/7 giving him a hellish 2nd half of the fight.

He lost the first fight 12-0. A stun gun hidden in his shorts is the only way he could win a rematch.

    Wait until Bivol is 40

That Eurasian heat isn't anywhere near as hot after it's been burning for 40 years

Bivol has Canelos number he has the perfect style to counter all of Canelo's strength's I would favour him to beat Canelo every time evern at 168 as long as the weight cutting dont take to much away from him

Canelo should just give up on 175. There's no shame in admitting you aren't a LHW. I remember when he argued he wasn't a real *MW*. He should hang out at 168 and even better would be going back to 160, although there's nothing there.

My favorite thing about Canelo is that he pursues the biggest fights, always, but 175 is a bridge too far. He only has another 2-3 years fighting at an elite level, might as well take winnable fights. If the best he can do is dominate a weak 168, then so be it. Personally I think DB would give him fits.

Clenelo is currently 1-3 against Korean dudes. He don't wanna be 1-4 against Korean dudes.

At 175 he doesnt have a chance imo. Just stay away from the 175 pound division all together.

He might do better, but as @gollumsluvslave stated, Bivol is just an ice cold dude, who knows how to stick to the gameplan.

Canelo has no business at 175. He's 5'9. There's no reason a boxer needs to be 192 on fight night at an elite level at that height.

168 is good for Canelo where his power is more of a factor. Moving up in weight and throwing away boxing skills is the opposite of what he should be trying to do.

That said, Bivol is too good. So is Beterbiev. Hell, Gvozdyk was probably beating his ass in sparring. Too much, too far.

Oh don't get me wrong. I agree with pretty much all of the points here in that 175 altogether is just too much. I think that points been made clear to him not only from the Bivol fight, but his trainers, Hearns and more. However, when it comes to Bivol his ego got hurt like never before. More than likely Canelo will go back up to 175 to fight him irregardless, but that's probably about it as far as 175 fights go. I think we'll see him permanently stay at 168 from now on for aforementioned reasons.
