No. What he's aiming at is to eat natural foods instead of processed to death ones.

The thread is called Nutrition for Boxing, but it actually doesn't matter much. Just eat less if you want to lose weight, more if you want to gain it. Rules of nutrition do not really change.

thank you, it makes sense. it just the portions and the amount. they say you're suppose to eat small amounts 3 or 4 times daily. always had a problem with that.

Lean protein, complex carbs and healthy fats, lots of fruits and vegetables. Eat 5-6 smaller meals so you don't get hungry and overeat.

    Breakfast: oatmeal and a eggs.

    Snack: Some sort of fruit

Lunch: Turkey sanwich on whole grain bread, very little/no mayo, lettuce, tomato. Plus carrots/celery/cucumber sticks or a salad with small amount of light dressing.

Snack: Yogurt or a granola bar (both low fat/low cal)

Dinner: Chicken breast, sweet potato or brown rice, green veggies.

Snack if needed: cottage cheese with some fruit.

Lots of water throughout the day.

Definitely small meals and non-processed are the way to go. My trainer's also got me avoiding pure carbs anytime after breakfast, and when I stick to it, it works very well. When I'm following his advice perfectly, I eat a lot of legumes and vegetables, but almost no bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, etc. apart from cereal and sometimes toast in the mornings right before I train. If I'm also training in the evening, I'll grab triscuits or a granola bar about half an hour prior to hitting the gym, but other than that I'm almost completely off of carbs.

you definitely want to avoid all processed foods and try to include more fruits and vegetables in your diet. do eat small meals throughout the day & you want to avoid things that are high on the glycemic index, http://www.southbeach-diet-plan.com/glycemicfoodchart.htm that will give you a good idea

it's good to eat foods with a lot of fiber. it makes you feel full and hold off hunger. if you can post your typical everyday diet maybe members can give you suggestions where you can improve.
