starting it soon, just sorting out meal plans working them aroun my workouts and **** at the moment..
you can try ice water or cold water I was having problems with my calves being sore as **** from running and I read that ice water after is the best. Well I tried it out, put some ice cubes in the tub and soaked my legs for 15 minutes and it worked great, they werent nearly as sore. IDK about just lifting weights though, its normal to have some soreness and especially after you just started again. After you get used to it, it wont be as bad.
:good Thanks I will have to try it out. As far as lifting goes, I have incredibly fragile rhomboids so I have to be extremely careful when working on the upper body.
To be honest, I know very little about how the body works. All I know is that I tore my left rhomboid badly and the doc said that if I tear it again I will have to have surgery on it. He told me that I have to be extremely careful when working out my upper body. Are you saying he is a complete nutcase?:think Cuz to be honest, I believe it. I live in a small town and there is only this one doctor. He isn't the best, but he is all we got.
Hey I'm not a nutritionist, but do have some medical education. I've been looking into nutrition a little bit for an article i wrote. I have especially looked at foods that help you boost your metabolism and I'll summarize what I found. Green tea, lean protein rich foods, fish (for omega 3 fatty acids), low fat yoghurt and milk (calcium help the metabolism), grapefruit (contact a physician of you're on medication) spicy food (capsaisin raises metabolism) and plenty of water (on the rocks) help you raise your metabolism. So basically they help you burn of calories faster and lose fat a little easier. Don't expect miracles though, they will aid you but combined it might ad up to 10% extra calories burnt. The best way to lose weight remains a healthy balanced diet with an active lifestyle (i.e. regular workouts). For muscle repair, make sure you get enough sleep. Without it you body doesnt heal up and recover. Also eat plenty protein from various natural sources; chicken eggs turkey lean beef and fish are great sources of protein. Last thing i would like to suggest is to make sure you eat enough veggies + fruit, all kinds. They are full of phytonutrients and vitamins. All great for boosting metabolism and building muscle. Good luck with your getting back into shape.
That is a bit overboard. I just looked in the fridge and the milk says its only got 11g for a cup of milk. Yeah a lot of the commercial yogurts add lots of sugar or corn syrup but milk is very good for you and I see no reason to avoid it unless you have lactose problems.
milk IS good,, for calfs, milk is processed to ****ing bits and most of the nutrients are destroyed in the process, its hard for me to say, since i ****ing love milk hahaha
I buy milk from a local creamery. It is the healthiest stuff in the world (friggin expensive though, haha) so I am not too worried about it. Although it is very high in fat content, so I gotta watch that.
b/c of all the stress you're putting on your joints it's good to drink aloe vera. it's wonderful and reduces pain and inflammation. i used to take it often when i was still dancing. for muscle repair there's no substitution for rest. there's supplements but sleeping is the most important.
